The Cardinals Of The Roman Catholic Church

Recommended Posts

He's my 3rd hit in April along with Schuller and Sledge. Can Billy Graham be far behind?

Billy Graham was mentioned in another obit today, that's a sign.

Cardinal Pell is in huge trouble for allegedly trying to bribe a child abuse victim:

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-05-20/cardinal-george-pell-tried-to-bribe-paedophile-victim-inquiry/6484420

Today, "A specially appointed member of the Vatican's commission on child protection has accused Cardinal George Pell of being "almost sociopathic" in his treatment of victims.

"Personally I think that his position is untenable because he has now a catalogue of denials...

He has a catalogue of denigrating people, of acting with callousness, cold-heartedness, almost sociopathic I would go as far as to say, this lack of care.

Given the position of George Pell as a cardinal of the church and a position of huge authority within the Vatican, I think he is a massive, massive thorn in the side of Pope Francis's papacy if he's allowed to remain.

And I think it's critical that he is moved aside, that he is sent back to Australia, and that the Pope takes the strongest action against him.""

So what. This is a Death List. It's not Unemployment List.

Much to learn have you, young Padawan. The trials and tribulations of the Roman Catholic Church have long been a source of fascination for us here.

Besides, Pell's not young and he is now under a lot of stress. Furthermore, other parties might have an interest in his downfall as he was called in to help sort out the Vatican's finances.

This could be the reason why, fucking vegetarians.

I found it ironic that he was a vegetarian from the Archdiocese of Bologna.

Deliciously ironic.

FFS. Read it again.

Cardinal Giacomo Biffi, 71, said that the modern Antichrist, identified in the Book of Revelation as a seven-headed beast, was most likely now disguised as a philanthropist supporting creeds like vegetarianism, animal rights or pacifism, or advocating dialogue with Orthodox or Anglican believers.

LOL - I remember reading that loon's quote from a few years ago. One of the Popes - either John Paul the Second or Benedict - supposedly had a soft spot for him which was the only reason nutty Biffi was tolerated at the Vatican. :D

Which everyone took to be the official pronouncement that Paul McCartney is infact the Anti-christ.

Pope Francis visited Cardinal Roger Etchegaray in hospital on Sunday night, after the cardinal fell while greeting the Pontiff at the end of Mass in St Peter’s Basilica earlier in the day. Cardinal Etchegaray, 93, is being treated at the Gemelli Hospital, in Rome, for a fractured left femur.

He will reportedly need an operation to repair the fracture. The cardinal previously broke his leg and hip on Christmas Eve in 2009 at St Peter’s Basilica, when a woman knocked him and Benedict XVI to the ground during midnight Mass.

Dude needs to find another place of worship to work at. Jeesh.

This one is 93 with surgeries for broken bones? He's checking out soon. 2016 possibility.

He was on my Roger & Out theme team last year; seems like it might be time to promote him to the main team.

The health situation of the Bolivian Cardinal Julio Terrazas, who is the only cardinal in his country, has worsened and is in a "terminal condition", his doctor Herlan Vaca Diez said today and considered it "virtually impossible" to recover.

"His health is poor and is practically in a terminal state," said Vaca Diez. Reporters gathered at the gates of the house of Terrazas, in the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, where parishioners made a day of prayer for his recovery.

He added that it is "virtually impossible for the Cardinal to recover," He has been bedriden several days bedridden due to a lung infection, although the religious asked not to be admitted to a hospital.

The cardinal's spokesman, Edwin Bazan told Radio Erbol that Terrazas is "extremely delicate" and in the last hours is "emaciated" and "physically exhausted".

Bazan asked the Bolivian Catholics hold prayer sessions to a man who has given so much to the Bolivian Catholic Church and committed to the God of life."

Terrazas, 79, is the only Cardinal in Bolivia and the first of his nationality.

During his visit to Bolivia last July, the pope visited a clinic Francisco Terrazas when he was hospitalized for conditions that prevented him from participating in the official events of the pontiff's visit.

Terrazas, who suffers from diabetes, heart and kidney problems, was then hospitalized for dehydration.

Francisco stayed at the house of Cardinal in Santa Cruz during the three-day visit to Bolivia.
