Paul Bearer 6,083 Posted March 19, 2019 Fort William FC was extremely disappointed to discover that our club social club, The Nupe, was broken into over the weekend. Although only minor damage was caused to the premises and nothing of great value stolen, this is still a financial set back for the club, with the club now having to replace the current security, along with stock and tills. Fort William FC Director, Sam Lees had this to say about the incident “it was extremely disappointing and sickening to discover that our club had been broken into. This is a financial blow to the club, especially at this point in the season. The club is doing so much good work within the local community and the surrounding area at this time. Initiatives such as the new primary schools football league being sponsored by the club and being held at claggan park, community coaching that is to begin in south Lochaber primary schools in the next few weeks and our connection with the local community and businesses which have the free use of our facilities, and also not to forget our newly formed relationship with local amateur side Mallaig FC, which allows us to extend our reach to the wider community in Lochaber. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Police Scotland for their service and prompt action in identifying the individuals involved in this incident. Despite this set back, Fort William FC will continue in it’s hard work and efforts within the local community and we will not let the actions of a few stop us from moving forward.” Hope this doesn't affect our form.
