From the list of @Lafaucheuse, only Claude Alphandéry and Jacqueline Fleury are still living, the others ones quoted are dead.

I think it's safe to assume that @Lafaucheuse is receiving commission from Le Monde.

Apparently other good French publications are non-existent (Le Figaro, Ouest France, Le Parisien, La Croix).

Ahah no but I have paid subscription for Le Monde and they’re quite picky on who’s death deserve a breaking news, un like Ouest France and Le Parisien for example which send breaking News everytime the butcher from around the corner dies so I tend to take Le Monde as quality obits

Now the last two living people born in 1915 with a English wiki page are Ma Shitu and James Clayton Flowers

Does have any one else? Wiki Foreign?

I'm guessing this means that James Clayton Flowers is the last individual of note born in 1915?

Yes, and 1914 still has 7 living people. Incredible.

Those 2 have been on my long list since 2008. Beyond a joke.

Norman Spencer came to our attention later. He's already the first person from British film/TV to reach 109. I hope he sees 110 in August.

I also don't buy Barbara Wallace being 99 years old. She may be pushing 90, but she does not look anywhere near 100.

Barbara Wallace's IMDb page has been updated by none other than Barbara herself to include a bio, some new professional headshots, and the information we've been after... her DOB!

She was born on December 19, 1935, meaning she'll turn 89 this year, not 101!

So Zhang Lixiong's death means there are now no notable persons born in 1913.

If Shi Ping dies that will wipe out 1912.
If Marita Camacho Quirós dies that will wipe out 1911 (not counting Fraudster Singh, who "turned 113" yesterday... **groan**)
If James Clayton Flowers dies that will wipe out 1915.

1914 still has 9 bloody names. Could be a couple of years yet before we see that one off.

1913 arguably has Mateo Balbuena Iglesias who is very slightly notable for having written a few books and being a local communist personality. I believe 1915 only has Clayton Flowers unless you want to count Min Jingde (not really notable at all) or that Taiwanese guy who broke the world record for oldest person to paraglide tandem (even less notable)

The 1914 names I'm aware of, ranked by how notable I consider them:

1. Muazzez İlmiye Çığ - Most recently made an appearance last month. Still sharp.

2. James C. Floyd - If I'm correct he has not been seen or heard of in a decade. I assume he's in very poor health and consider him very overdue

3. Anne Baker MBE - Looks 109, but I don't think it's been a very long time since her last appearance?

4. Eileen Kramer - Could walk without aid a bit over a year ago, visibly aged since but still doing well for her age.

5. Norman Spencer - Not much to say, most recent image with a quick google search is from when he was 106.

The rest I consider nearly completely notable only due to age.

6. Edith Renfrow Smith - "I've never taken any medicine" type. Spent weeks in hospital last year but recovered well. Facebook admirers seem sure she'll live way past 110.

7. Anita Mackey - Bedbound for more than a year.

8. Viola Fletcher - Tulsa race massacre survivor. I'm too starting to doubt her age a bit, I think she looks too great for 109 and just very recently released a memoir.

9. Lessie Benningfield Randle - The first here with no Wikipedia page. The other Tulsa race massacre survivor, seems to be in much worse health than Fletcher.

10. Morrie Markoff - The second one of this group who as far as I know has no Wikipedia page. "Notable" only for being the oldest blogger, but also the oldest man in the US now. Looks much younger.

Pappammal is an obvious fraudster and therefore not included.

TBF, Markoff was "famous for being old" even before he turned 100.

Markoff or the Taiwanese guy don’t count. I think the List of Centenarians page on Wiki uses a fair definition ie known for reasons other than their longevity so oldest veteran, oldest marathon runner, oldest beekeeper blah blah blah don’t count. I’d also exclude masters athletes unless they had a professional or amateur athletic career of note before longevity brought them further attention.
