Sean 6,329 Posted December 18, 2015 http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/dec/17/shirley-williams-retire-lords-after-50-years-politics:Baroness Shirley Williams to retire from the house of Lords in the New year. She did an interview with the casual politics guy and looks good for 85 and appears very much on the ball but maybe she knows something we don`t?Not one for next years list maybe but certainly one to keep an eye on now she has retired.Other notable members of the house of lords that have stood down are : -Mary Warnock (91 and is an outspoken advocate of assisted suicide.Maybe she will lead by example?) -Patrick Jenkin -David Waddington -Patrick Mayhew -Cecil Parkinson (We would have to come up with a cracker for his slogan if he went ) -Peter Brooke -John Sewel -Michael Ashcroft (Renal Failure)

gcreptile 10,972 Posted December 19, 2015 Scandal mired Nigerian politician Diezani Alison-Madueke, the current president of OPEC, is apparently suffering from cancer. She was arrested in the UK by the National Crime Agency earlier this year, who wanted to speak to her about bribery and money laundering, leading to rumours that she may be exaggerating her illness to avoid further legal action. This story is getting good: Yesterday, there were lots of death rumours but eventually the family denied her death: http://pulse.ng/local/alison-madueke-ex-minister-is-not-dead-family-confirms-id4475978.html Now, it has been revealed that there was a plot to secretly get her out of the UK and to start a new life on a caribbean island: http://pulse.ng/local/diezani-ex-minister-for-petroleum-alleged-plots-to-flee-uk-unveiled-id4479970.html So... did she fake her cancer so that she could fake her death and live a life under a new identity? I dunno about starting a new life but reports were early on the 'cancer' reporting was faulty and not true. She may be totally ignored for death purposes. Sir Creep 7,070 Posted December 22, 2015 A member of Kuwaits national assembly has passed away on Tuesday after suddenly fainting while parliament was in session. Nabeel al-Fadhel, a politician and former journalist, was tended to immediately by Kuwaits undersecretary of Health Khaled al-Sehlawi and an emergency crew who failed to resuscitate him. Video clip attached. Kuwait has a slightly different way of tending to the medically needy. Looks like they looked down at him, said meh, kicked him under the chairs and out of the way. But seriously does anyone see CPR etc going on here? Parliament session keeps going (someone speaking doesn't stop). Weebl 216 Posted January 4, 2016 What does everyone make of the ongoing Simon Danczuk scandal? Apparently he's an alcoholic who drinks three bottles of wine a night? He's using this as an excuse for his "sexting" a 17-year-old girl. Anyway, being an alcoholic plus being involved in a sexual scandal does not exactly make him the most stable person out there... msc 18,477 Posted January 4, 2016 My thought is that he was probably caught out in a sting, so a bit daft. Mind you, he remains Simon Danczuk, so no sympathy.
