baz 0 Posted December 9, 2004 Darrell "Dimebag" Abbott of heavy metal band Damageplan, and formerly of Pantera, was gunned down last night at a show in Columbus, Ohio. The gig was part of the band's perhaps unfortunately titled "Devastation Across The Nation" tour. At least four other less famous people were also killed. http://www.antimusic.com/news/04/dec/item07.shtml

Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted December 9, 2004 Perhaps he should have been known as Darrell "Bodybag" Abbott. That's one hell of a Rock 'n' Roll way to go though! DWB
IKYWN 6 Posted December 9, 2004 Ironic really that one of Pantera's better known songs was "Cemetary Gates"

maryportfuncity 10,684 Posted July 24, 2005 Windsor, chill. Half the fun around these parts is finding out about the people. I knew Dimebag from his many years of ear splitting excellence with Pantera. But this site has been a revelation to me in other ways. The I'd never heard of that 'Pope' fella in Rome and enjoyed the banter on that thread.
Paul Bearer 6,130 Posted July 25, 2005 Never heard of him. I thought, with a name like dimebag, he was a Baseball player or summat like that.

Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted August 23, 2005 he has influenced me and my band alot What percentage of people in the UK and US believe that "alot" is a word? It seems to be in the region of 50%. In this particular thread I've counted two incorrect uses and zero correct uses. It's curious that the same people don't seem to think "afew" is a word, because I've never seen that. Pantera fans hard to find these days? I for one am shocked.
