There is a hierarchy on Radio 4 that should be noted. Politics, High Culture (this includes Pop Music if the producers listened to it at Uni (e.g. David Bowie), Business, Public Service, Sport and finally Low Culture. For Radio 4 purposes Cricket is considered as High Culture and not Sport.

gcreptile 11,061 Posted October 14, 2017 Hmm, the deep backlog. Did Hedley Jones even receive a DDP-qualifying obit? Maybe The Last Word could be added as a QO source?

Joey Russ 7,263 Posted November 24, 2017 This week on last word: Lord Imbert, the Commissioner who tried to change the culture of the Metropolitan Police. He invited TV cameras to observe his officers at work, leading to a controversial film of them subjecting a rape victim to aggressive questioning. Pat Hutchins, the children's author and illustrator who created the book "Rosie's Walk" and presented the TV series "Rosie and Jim". Rodney Bewes, the actor best known for playing Bob in the Likely Lads. Charles Manson, one of the most notorious murderers of the 20th century. And David Cassidy, the singer and actor who was a heartthrob for millions of teenage girls in the 1970s.

Dunno re Clifford - lots of archive recordings and an interesting story. It ain't like Gary Glitter where they've airbrushed him out of history by way of banning his records.
