Spade_Cooley 9,601 Posted January 9, 2017 Just to clarify, I still get the points if said manager leaves to join another club rather than is fired, correct?

Switch 141 Posted January 9, 2017 Team sent in. Not sure why I bothered to send it via PM since I didn't do much research and there is a relatively small amount of managers to choose from anyway.

The Happy Reaper 223 Posted January 12, 2017 Objection - if you're including pub teams from below English League Two, why exclude teams from Scottish League One and Two, who are part of the Scottish Professional Football League, the main national set-up? Deathray 2,942 Posted January 12, 2017 Objection - if you're including pub teams from below English League Two, why exclude teams from Scottish League One and Two, who are part of the Scottish Professional Football League, the main national set-up? The National League system is not pub teams. The pub teams reside far far further down the pyramid than that. The National League is the football league's feeder groups. The Scottish lower leagues are bollocks leagues.
The Happy Reaper 223 Posted January 12, 2017 But we're not talking about the Scottish lower leagues. That would be the Highland and Lowland Leagues, which are the equivalent of the National League.
Deathray 2,942 Posted January 12, 2017 But we're not talking about the Scottish lower leagues. That would be the Highland and Lowland Leagues, which are the equivalent of the National League. Oh I give in (whilst still maintain in practical terms, due to population sizes/number of clubs etc that the Scottish Premier division is equivelant to League 1 and the Highland and Lowland Leagues would be your Isthmian/Southern/Northern Premier League systems if you're feeling generous - call this English snobbery if you wish) ; feel free to chose picks from all of the following; (or amend your already submitted teams) English Premier League English Championship English League One English League Two English National League English National League North English National League South Scottish Premiership Scottish Championship Scottish League One Scottish League Two Welsh Premier League Welsh Cymru Alliance League Northern Irish Football League Premiership Northern Irish Football League Championship That should satisfy the pub league advocates from across the United Kingdom. Teams remain 20. Deadline extended to Tuesday 17th at 20:59. Teams already submitted may be amended.
rockhopper penguin 2,265 Posted January 12, 2017 Oh come on. Sacking implies a board decision to terminate a contract. Some of the managers in these leagues will be paid in beer and let their mates have a go if they've had too much the night before.
Chopped Liver 53 Posted January 12, 2017 May I suggest a slight edit? English Premier League English Championship English League One English League Two English National League English National League North English National League South Scottish Premiership Scottish Championship Scottish League One Scottish League Two Welsh Premier League Welsh Cymru Alliance League Northern Irish Football League Premiership Northern Irish Football League Championship We don't need all the pub leagues, really. And as Rockhopperpenguin said above, the managerial sackings are a lot lower in magnitude.

The Happy Reaper 223 Posted January 13, 2017 I'm not claiming that the Scottish Premiership is on a par, skillwise, with the English Premier League. Apart from Celtic, most of our SPL teams would struggle in the Championship. Celtic would finish in the top six but wouldn't be guaranteed promotion. It just bugs me that people tend to ignore the Leagues One and Two here. Yes, they have pitifully small crowds but the people who do go are amongst the most loyal supporters in the land - they turn up in the most hideous of weather whereas your average top-flight supporter might decide not to bother going if the opposition aren't very exciting. And while many people in England probably couldn't name the town where East Fife play, I can't tell you a single team from the National League - except maybe Sutton United, because the FA Cup draw show came from there (apart from the actual draw, which was in the BT Tower). So it works both ways.
