Surprisingly Barys Kit didn’t even get a New York Times obituary. Remigino did get one very quickly. I think the worst case scenario for him is not getting one until one of the end of the year type things, in which he’ll probably get a mention there...

You are right about Kit + NYT.  Astonishing imho.  It will remain the low point for obituary writers in 2018.  Indefensible nonfeasance.

It's actually shocking someone(Remingo) who got Gold in  100M at the Olympics didn't pick up an obit from one of the more sportscentric papers.And since he is American in most cases DailyMail would just do copy and paste his obit from AP. So far Remingo might go down with Barrys Kit as the most shocking non DDP qualifying obit of the year.

I still think Remigino will receive a QO still even if it’s only by the BBC end of the year thing. With Barys Kit though, he didn’t receive any major obituaries though, which is probably more shocking than Remigino not getting a QO...
