Mr Stats 9 Posted February 5, 2004 Dear Guests and Members I can't believe all this hullaballoo over the passing of Rikki Fulton (famous in his own back yard) while there has not been even a squeak about the death of surely the Greatest Ever Scotsman Don't mention Cubillas, don't mention missed penalties and don't ever mention Iran Willie Robertson's failed drug test shouldn't even cross your mind "We'll bring back a medal" he said and I believed him - and I'm not even Scottish Ally MacLeod (1931 - 2004) Never mind Mr Stats
Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted February 6, 2004 . . . and Archie Gemmill's goal against Holland. Only the squads World Cup song could be better! DWB
Mr Stats 9 Posted February 9, 2004 Hell, I've just found out that Bob Stokoe passed away last weekend as well. We're having a bit of a run on charismatic 1970's football managers. Is it too late to get Brian Clough sneaked onto this year's list??
Mr Stats 9 Posted February 9, 2004 Malcolm Allison??
Paul Bearer 6,130 Posted October 6, 2008 OK time to regurgitate this one (from the depths of the deathlist underbelly) as there seems to be a number of Jocks in the firing line at the moment.
Lard Bazaar 3,803 Posted October 6, 2008 Frankie Boyle, the greatest living Scotsman, is nowhere near dying to my knowledge.
Octopus of Odstock 2,217 Posted October 6, 2008 Isn't "Greatest Ever" and "Scotsman" a contradiction in terms? Can't think of a likeable Scotsman off my head. Salmond, Gordon Brown, Tommy Burns, Billy Connolly... Ah no, I take it all back - Stanley Baxter, who I always thought was excellent, is extremely healthy. Good for him. Who are the Scots primed for death, then HCW? BTW, Who was Rikki Fulton? Did he play for St. Mirren?

Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,226 Posted October 6, 2008 I do second Frankie Boyle, however, the Greatest Ever Scotsman was John Yogi Bear. Not only did he invent the Television, he did it while living in Jellystone Park, hamstrung by a young twat called Boo Boo. What with him be constantly harrassed by a beligerent Park Ranger and some poorly stocked "Pickenik" Baskets, its a wonder how he acheived what he did. Cowboy Ronnie 78 Posted October 6, 2008 Apparently it's not Sean Connery, according to the British public. Sean of the Unread Is the award for greatest accomplishments, or because he's a great bloke? Gordon Brown in either case.
Terminator 13 Posted October 7, 2008 The greatest Scotsman (on so many levels) has to be George Galloway.

Lard Bazaar 3,803 Posted October 7, 2008 The Proclaimers, surely? So GRATE, his noodleship saw fit to make two identical examples of the greatest ever ScotsmEn. Good call. I love the Proclaimers. They often play at a local music festival down my way, but I have yet to have the good fortune to see them. However my friend's ex boyfriend played in a band on the same bill as them, and he got their autograph for me. Which I have lost.
Godot 149 Posted October 7, 2008 It has to be Mel Gibson.
Monoclinic 39 Posted October 7, 2008 It has to be Mel Gibson. Not Sir James Dewar? Were it not for him your thermos of Bisto would probably be cooling at a rate akin to those accidentally quenched magnets at the LHC.

Octopus of Odstock 2,217 Posted October 7, 2008 I checked on Wikipedia. Cheat. I agree. I've met him, he was a twat. Because he was being such a twat, I pointed to my hand, then to him & mouthed "cheat". He was most taken aback! We Welshies will never forgive. Joe Jordan & Pele.. Death is too good for them after their crimes...

maryportfuncity 10,684 Posted October 7, 2008 The Big Yin for all the bad movies and chummy love-in chats with Michael Parkinson, has a record of comedy genius to shame most other Scots comics.
