I did the list of the oldest living Indian Chief Ministers earlier this year (July), here's a list of the oldest living Governors. Usually smaller political personalities than the CMs, so I'm not sure if all are alive. As with the list of oldest CMs, all born 1951 and before:

Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare (1928) Governor of Odisha 2007-2013.

Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, India's oldest living governor, dead at 95.

Here's Pappammal three weeks ago (video, 3:00 onwards):

Now able to walk a bit, but looks much thinner than when she got that Padma Shri in 2021.

Pappammal, "110-year-old" Indian organic farmer and Padma Shri recipient, is starting to look her claimed age:

She could walk in April and has gone downhill very fast.

Interesting about the news of these old Indian politicians is that they won't often mention what ailments they're suffering from, but they'll mention the doctor's name. Advani is being treated by urologists and neurologists. The neurologist mentioned operated on Sadhguru earlier this year.

In other news SM Krishna who's being treated by one of India's top lung transplant experts, is out of ICU after over two months.

I really thought this time Krishna was a goner. It seems not.

Ridiculous how they insist it was "a minor ailment" after he just spent two months on life support.

Indian politician and independence activist P. Narsa Reddy dead at 92.

I think there might be only 7 Indian independence activists left with Wikipedia pages, correct me if I'm wrong - ages 96 to 100:

1 - VS Achuthanandan (1923) Severely ailing for the last 5 years. One of Drol's top immortals.

2 - LK Advani (1927) Co-founder of ruling party BJP and former deputy prime minister. Not a DDP pick, but I think there's a decent chance he'll obit.

3 - Krishnammal Jagannathan (1926) Social activist. Seems to suffer from Parkinson's or something similar.

4 - Ramjee Singh (1927) Gandhian activist and former Member of Parliament.

5 - Shobhana Ranade (1924) Social worker, Gandhian.

6 - Sailesh Kumar Bandopadhyay (1926-2016) Activist, "close associate of Gandhi"

7 - V. P. Appukutta Poduval (1923) "Gandhian since 1934". Interesting eyewitness/relic of Indian history.

Satya Narayan Gourisaria possibly died in 2019 and Shanta Vasisht might be dead too.

Edit: Sailesh Kumar Bandhopadhyay seems to be dead too, referred to on facebook as "late" and there are some Bangla posts from 2016 saying he's dead. Also marked to have died on the Bangla wiki. That makes 6.

Shobhana Ranade (wikidead at 99.

Quick list of ancient Indian politicos (born before 1938), as we have one of (immortal) Chinese politicos. @arghton, your suggestions are welcome as this will initially be very incomplete.

1)Yadlapati Venkatarao (1919): Rajya Sabha MP who has been on a wheelchair for years. Lost both his son and wife in 2021.

2)N. Sankaraiah (1921): hardline communist politician and Tamil Nadu MLA.

3)VS Achuthanandan (1923): immortal Kerala communist CM. Stroke in 2018, bad health since, critical condition in 2021, hospitalised with COVID in 2022.

4)R. Nallakannu (1925): Tamil Nadu communist. Hospitalised in 2020, and later survived COVID.

5)Shanti Bhushan (1925): ancient minister of justice who seems to be still very powerful.

6)Sukh Ram (1927): Telecom minister and fraudster who was "in an irreversible coma" in 2012. Obviously he has much improved since being released from jail. Hospitalised in 2021 for a serious urinary tract infection.

7)LK Advani (1927): deputy PM and minister of the interior. Generically frail.

8)Parkash Singh Badal (1927): iconic Punjab CM. Obese, suffering from heart issues and most recently hospitalised with COVID and then again with heart issues. But still out and about.

9)Natwar Singh(1931): former Foreign Affairs minister, still involved in politics.

10)SM Krishna (1932): powerful Foreign Affairs Minister and Karnataka CM who seems to be doing very well.

11)Manmohan Singh (1932): PM with diabetes and a lot of heart issues (open heart surgery in 2010). Survived COVID and dengue in 2021.

12)HD Deve Gowda (1933): PM who was recently hospitalised with COVID. For the second time.

13)Murli Manohar Joshi (1934): Home Affairs minister who has looked half dead for decades.

14)Pratibha Patil (1934): looks very frail in recent photos.

15)Om Prakash Chautala (1935): unsinkable crook indiscussed lord of Haryana. In great health, obviously if out of jail.

16)Shivraj Patil (1935): Minister of Home Affairs, hospitalised with COVID in 2021.

17)Yashwant Sinha (1937): Foreign Affairs minister who was hospitalised with severe back pain in December 2021.

Natwar Singh dead at 95

Another Indian MP and former Mayor of Kolkata, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya of CPIM (the party of many pool picks including Achuthanandan, Buddhadeb etc) hospitalised. Underwent a bypass earlier and now to undergo a pacemaker implantation.

Now Sitaram Yechury, CPIM's General Secretary, in ICU with pneumonia. "Not serious", "had initially gone for a checkup"

Bikash from the quoted post is still alive as are CPIM ancients VS Achuthanandan (100), MM Lawrence (95) and Paloli Mohammed Kutty (92) despite years of being in horribly frail conditions.
