As said elsewhere, Denny O’Neil was a key figure in comics’ “Bronze Age”, especially at DC, where he was a leading writer of “relevant” stories in which superheroes tackled racism, pollution, drugs etc. All extremely dated now, but nonetheless fun to read.

DC lacks imagination all they do is think of a noun and follow it with a man or a woman

You think DC is better than Marvel or you like both?

I think both are good, severals editors, writers and comic book artists worked in both, creating great stories.

Neal Adams was definitely a major figure in American comics, for his influence on other artists as much as for his own work.

Also there really aren't many artists from comics' Silver Age of the 1960s left now.

Lily Renée's death deserves a mention here too.

Oldest three comic book artists/writers with an EN wiki page now?

1) Al Jaffee (wiki) USA b. 1921
2) Erich von Götha (wiki) UK b. 1924 <--- Is he definitely still with us?
3) Dino Attanasio (wiki) BELGIUM b. 1925
