So he probably isn't going to go about closing coal mines, raising taxes for the poor and lowering them for the rich and bragging about how much beer he can drink. I say wait and see. Catholics have become increasingly interested in these predictions because the descriptions of Popes 109 and 110 match the pontificates of John Paul I and John Paul II and because there are only two more Popes on the list. Predicted Pope 111 was described cryptically as “From the Glory of the Olive.” A Catholic website owner can logically interpret this as meaning: 1. Because the olive branch is a symbol of peace then this Pope will be a man of peace. He'll be famous for it. 2. Pope Benedict XVI will suggest to the world that three booths be built in Jerusalem: a Temple, a Church, and a Mosque. He will suggest that the city of Jerusalem becomes a place of peace and of worship for all three religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. War breaks out amongst the Arab nations in 2009, great war in 2010. By 2040 we'll all be Catholics. 6. Pope Benedict XVI will die prior to, or at the very beginning of, World War III. It is a tragedy that so many innocent children are brainwashed into believing that opinions issuing from the Vatican have the validation of God. Happily, there are many other paths available - to those who can escape the ingrained guilt. I'm no Catholic, not religious in the slightest, although I do think religion can do some good in some instances. But this guy scares me. I could maybe overlook the Hitler youth experience as he was only 14 and claims to have quit the army in 1945 (probably only 'cos they were losing), but his fastidious opposition to homosexuality, birth control and abortion isn't exactly what the world needs at the minute. I suppose it was way too much to have hoped for someone from S. America or, gasp, Africa. In a couple of places I've seen he's being referred to as "God's Rottweiller". Charming.
