    Were they sedated?

Yes. It almost killed them though as breathing issues are common with FTD. It's not easy to use anesthesia or incubate someone with it

Geting dental work done on someone with frontotemporal dementia is probably nearly impossible unless you sedated them. I think it is less about them not caring and more a demonstration that he just isn`t mentally stable enough  to get the necessary work done on it plus if he had a false tooth odds are he wouldn`t be able to look after it or let anyone else look after it.He could of course be at risk of eating it  as people with fronto-temporal dementia and other forms of dementia are at risk of eating small objects and inappropriate things.

The person I know with it had to have all their teeth pulled and replaced with dentures.

Staging a photo is one thing. What this person said is that an execution that was filmed on camera, was not real. That's 2 different things bud

Faking someone's death via execution vs making a building bombing look worse than it was. Not even in the same ball park

You guys honestly think Ukraine would need to fake the death of a soldier? They have plenty of genuine deaths already. Daily. Innocents. Wives. Children. Etc. You sick fucks.

I have no doubt that in some situations things are fabricated whether from ill-intent or just the fog of war. Needing to fake the deaths of their own citizens? You guys go over there and tell me how fake the death and destruction is...

Don’t think there’s a departures thread (this isn’t an airport after all!) so just going to post this in here – it’s been a fun and interesting 15 years but I’ve decided I’d rather leave DL. Not going to get into my reasons for this.

I will still drop in every few months to edit existing lists I’ve made through the years, but I do not intend to post anymore.

    Adieu

     :hatsoff:

That is unfortunate. We didn't always get along, but I consider you a DL mainstay. Dare I say icon? Won't be the same

Hope all is well and wish you luck

I'm not understanding how all this is necessary or useful @The Old Crem.

You are spamming unnotable deaths in multiple threads while also bumping this one needlessly...

    @The Old Crem

That didn't last long huh? FFS

  7. It only took around five months....we have another hit!

(Wiki) Ricou Browning died Feb. 27th of natural causes to give @gcreptile our second (and their first) hit of this pool

No fancy paragraph or puns this time, I just don't give a flip.

(The show was flipper....you get it? Flip? Flipper?...Ah nevermind)

    Just in case....

Alas, it was not meant to be.

Last year I got smacked out of Round 1, this year I slowly go out the back-door on a unlucky coin flip.

Congratz @Hell and thank you for hosting @Spade_Cooley

    Good luck everyone that remains!

Berserk seems to have been a very big thing, as they've made video games, statues, action figures, lighters, keyrings, books out of it.

I did some research, here's some known manga/anime creators mentioned on wikipedia's manga/anime portal:

Hayao Miyazaki (b. 1941) A name that nearly anyone who has heard of anime or manga recognizes. He's the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, a giant anime studio and probably the most known alive manga/anime creator. One of his most famous creations is Totoro. Has had heart problems in the 2010s, also used to smoke like a chimney. Another co-founder of Studio Ghibli, Isao Takahata (1935-2018) died of lung cancer and Miyazaki has admitted to smoking near him.

Satoshi Tajiri (b. 1965) and Ken Sugimori (b. 1966) The creators of Pokemon. They're in their 50s but when the time comes, they'll be talked about everywhere.

Yuko Shimizu (b. 1946) and Shintaro Tsuji (b. 1927) The creators of Hello Kitty, Shimizu was the designer, Tsuji created the company and probably made the stories. Much older than the creators of Pokemon. Tsuji's retirement last year was mentioned on BBC and Independent.

Hideaki Anno (b. 1960) Creator of Neon Genesis Evangelion, a religion-related anime that started in the 90s. Licensed by Netflix, total revenue of an estimated 11.9 billion dollars. Anno has had serious mental problems before.

Akira Toriyama (b. 1955) Created Dragon Ball. No known health issues.

Yoshiyuki Tomino (b. 1941) Created Gundam in the 70s.

Tetsuo Hara (b. 1961) Creator of the Fist of the Northern Star.

Not so sure if they'll get a QO:

Yukinobu Hoshino (b. 1954) Writer of 2001 Nights. Work acknowledged by the British Museum and was on display 2009-2010.

Mamoru Hosoda (b. 1967) Has done multiple movies.

Yoshiaki Kawajiri (b. 1950) Has done multiple movies.

    Tomoharu Katsumata (b. 1938)

    Koichi Mashimo (b. 1952)

    Masami Kurumada (b. 1953)

Leiji Matsumoto (b. 1938) and Miyako Maki (b. 1935) Mangaka couple. Matsumoto suffered severe respiratory problems and was in critical condition in 2019.

Shinji Mizushima (b. 1939) Baseball manga author.

Hideko Mizuno (b. 1939) Known in the 1960s.

    Go Nagai (b. 1945) Horror/Erotica manga creator

Takao Saito (1936-2021) Creator of Golgo 13 and working on it since the 60s

Sanpei Shirato (1932-2021) Early manga artist

(Wiki) Leiji Matsumoto died Feb. 13th, 2023 at age 85.

He has been mentioned in a few threads..

  10. I have a close family member who has suffered with FTD since around 2016-17. It likely started years before as diagnosing the symptoms can take some time. They aren't doing very good and I'm not sure how long they have left. That's about 8-10 years of lifespan, at least for my personal example.

This dementia can go fast or slow depending on the person. It usually happens in waves, as in the person suddenly gets much worse and then stays steady at that level before going downhill again. One thing I know for sure, you never get better with FTD....you just stop getting any worse for a few months/years.

Given the gossip surrounding him and the initial misdiagnosis, my personal opinion places him around 3-4 years left. That being said, it really can take a turn with no warning. Bruce Willis should be on everyone's list by 2025.

This one hits close to home. I'm sorry for him and his family as it won't ever be the same.

Aliens are trending on twitter. The unknown object above Alaska, another object right now above Michigan.

What's happening, especially so shortly after the chinese balloon story? A deflection? A deflection of the deflection? Are the aliens going to have revenge for their shot down object?

The Majority leader of the Senate (Chuck Schumer) says all three objects shot down are believed to be balloons.

    The three objects being:

    1. The well known Chinese balloon that flew across the country

    2. One over Alaska

    3. One over Canada

Schumer also says it has happened for years and the government/intelligence agencies were unaware of it.
