Frankie Valli

Glad I put him on my list, should really be considered for next year, he has the Same gaunt appearance as Bucharach and Newhart had one year before their demise

He has been doing the vacant half-arsed miming thing for years now, but the gaunt appearance is more of a concern.

Could be nothing but could be a blow for him. Frailness and tiredness, put him on the list next year if he reaches it

2 of the his bandmates have died from COVID: Tommy DeVito (aged 92 in 2020) and Joe Long (aged 88 in 2021).

Frankie for the hat trick?

The original Instagram post is dated 19 June 2022.  It has comments from the poster pinned on the same date (117 weeks ago).  While there are very recent posts  (11 hours, a day ago), they are clearly posting on old news.

The post below from @Captain Hemlock made in August for comparison to show the decline.

He has been lip-syncing his performances almost entirely since about 2002, but he was able to do it somewhat convincingly until the last couple of years or so. To his credit, he seems very lucid when he speaks and he's able to stand and walk around for the entirety of the 90-minute show.

Definitely one to consider for 2025.

This will keep happening on social media. They ought to release a statement saying "Frankie has dementia/lost his voice/is not being exploited/is happy to be on stage" etc.

If it were a Tony Bennett situation then I could respect it. Even then, he was singing live at his final concerts and knew where he was during the songs. Nothing suggests Frankie has a say in this, but I'd gladly be proven wrong.

Thing is that when you check out the entirety of the show recording, you can see that he's still very much there, albeit he seems to be slurring his words a bit. His vocals are completely prerecorded while the band and the backing vocalists are doing their magic live, and he just unenthusiastically lip-syncs his part (although sometimes you can hear him actually try to sing, but his voice is really not there anymore as it used to be; the guy is 90 for crying out loud). Still, a pretty strong contender for next year's DL, considering his age and frail state.

I saw him about a week ago (the theatre was a few minutes away, and I got the tickets before the physical decline was more a point of contention despite still knowing about the lip syncing). It probably helps I had a balcony view but he didn't seem as bad physically as I thought he might, he was still able to stand the entire show and did do some talking in between songs. Still walking like a man onto TJS next year though, one of those Johnny Gilbert personal can't misses.

Apparently he's been lip syncing for a quarter century now, just that until a few years ago he could do so far more convincingly.
