Austrian actor and entfant terrible Helmut Berger has died at age 78, 11 days shy to his 79th birthday.

He is best known for his portrayal of narcissistic and sexually-ambiguous characters. He was one of the stars of the European Cinema in the late 1960s and 1970s and is regarded as a sex symbol and pop icon of the period. He is most famous for his work with Luchino Visconti.

As Doris Stockhausen is reported dead, here are the “big misses” of the D-A-CH-List so far:

Ralf Wolter: Only on the D-A-CH-List in 2021, died in 2022

Helmut Berger: Only on the D-A-CH-List in 2021, died in 2023

Margit Carstensen: Only on the D-A-CH-List in 2021, died in 2023

Doris Stockhausen: Only on the D-A-CH-List in 2022, died in 2023

Note to myself: Get those 2021-candidates back on the D-A-CH-List for 2024...

Great, hit No. 8th! So we have at least surpassed our list from last year!

Maybe Hit No. 9 not long in coming... the boxer René Weller is in the last stages of dementia and it doesn't look good... the reports have been saying for 3 weeks...
