Terminator 13 Posted April 1, 2005 So, what are the chances that the next Pope will be from Africa? I don't mind anyone having a dig at most of the African archbishops, but.... don't mess with my Tutu. You're full with brilliant one liners today aren't you? The chances are rather slim that would happen though. I also wonder what name he would be given/take. Thanks for your insightful feedback. In Rome, Dessie-baby would probably be known as "Papa Tutu" (kinda got a ring to it, huh?)
Guest Banshees Scream Posted April 1, 2005 The latest on him Pope John Paul II was clinging to life in deteriorating condition Friday, with his breath shallow and his kidneys not functioning properly after suffering heart trouble, the Vatican said. He is not in a coma but everything is failing on him and his death could be arriving soon which is very aware. They are singing there prayers and i assume lining up the possible new popes to be. One of his docters said mainly "Hes In Gods Hands Now" "#6"
Rotten Ali 600 Posted April 1, 2005 After loads of hanging on to the continuing coverage on the television news today - I can now post that Pope John Paul II has just flat-lined. Hope it's a short and happy trip for him to finally meet his maker! Pope gets to the pearly gates, kisses the clouds outside that they stand on and there's no sign of St. Peter. John Paul II knocks on the doors but no one comes. He starts banging on the door, but still no one comes to let him in. The Pope starts to strain a shout and God himself opens the door. The pope says to God "I was expecting St. Peter to be here to greet me". God retorts "St. Peter had to go for a lie down as he and Jim Callaghan have been up all night beating seven shades of poo out of Dave Allen & John DeLorean while still expecting both you and Gerry Ford at any moment. You're late and Ford's not sure if he now wants to go to hell, since that Ronnie Reagan's here and heaven knows how you found time to send that Prince Rainier your blessings, it looks like they really work a bit too well 'cus he was supposed to be up here two days ago!" My 2nd hit on the Derby Dead Pool putting me about 27th of the 142 entrants. And my 4th hit, of only 10 choices, on the Rotten Dead Pool since the 1st of September 04 - putting me in about the 1,000th position of the 40,000 contestants. lospalmas7 12 Posted April 1, 2005 VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Italian media gave contradictory reports about Pope John Paul's vital signs on Friday, first saying his heart and brain activity had stopped and then reporting this was not true. There was no official comment from the Vatican. The first reports, picked up by the state broadcaster RAI, said his electrocardiogram had gone flat. The ADNkronos news agency said monitoring showed his brain activity had halted. But Sky Italia television later quoted Vatican sources saying both his brain and heart were still functioning. sky are reporting that Vatican deny rumours of Pope's death. The Yeti 14 Posted April 1, 2005 The re-popification process is just asking for a sweepstake. Deathlist could run a sweepstake on the surviving 50 targets for this year and pay out when the lucky number comes up. Michael Jackson ? IKYWN 6 Posted April 1, 2005 I wouldn't trust Sky, they're just a mouthpiece for Rupert Murdoch. Perhaps if he grew tits and changed his name to David Beckham on his deathbed their reports might carry a little more respect. Personally I won't believe it until the BBC say so. I just wish he'd hurry up. I've got to get up and go to Woolworth's tomorrow morning.
