maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted August 13, 2006 Peace negotiators in Sri Lanka die Iain, you've told us as much on the near misses thread today. Re the current crop of DL celebs, think of them like a pile of logs, seasoning and cracking in the hot summer before inevitable incineration to ashes in the cold months. Your sarcasm is at it's highest. The pressure i'm under to create a Iain VS Windsor thread is becoming hard to resist.

BrunoBrimley 86 Posted August 14, 2006 There will be no need for such a thread, Banshees. I win hands down every time. I wear hand me downs...often having to scrape my arms rather brutally when reaching into the charity bins left to collect at the local park...I got a wonderful dark grey woolen overcoat last year from one and soem very stylish shirts as well. I can't figure out why they don't make the opening slots bigger or have the bins be safer...I could receive a serious gash to my arms from all that harsh and sharp metal. Guest iain Posted August 19, 2006 8 weeks since th elast deathlist hit.Thtas th e longest dry spell for over a year.Anyone starting to panic? We're in serious danger of not matching the last few years hit total at this rate!
maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted August 19, 2006 Very calm on the matter Iain, gazing out of my window and listening to Bob Mould's album Black Sheets of Rain which seems apt this morning. Trust me, high profile deaths in West Cumbria this week won't be due to thirst.
Phantom 2,533 Posted August 19, 2006 Have no reason to panic, if we don't match the pervious year's total, we just go back to the drawing board and review the selections and see if we can improve our prediction skills. Of course it doesn't help when people over exaggerate on the health of certain celebs

Canadian Paul 97 Posted September 26, 2006 Somebody tell me that i'm wrong. You're wrong. Great people, great chats, great posts and learning about places, people and things that you never thought you'd give a damn about. Not to mention a whole hell of a lot of entertainment. I'd say Deathlist is a smashing success.

Lady Die 63 Posted September 26, 2006 It's 95 days now since the last death. I'd say that this year is turning into a failure BTW is 95 death-free days a DL record?
football_fan 42 Posted September 26, 2006 It's 95 days now since the last death. I'd say that this year is turning into a failure BTW is 95 death-free days a DL record? The record for the longest period without a DL graduate was in 1991. We went a whole year without registering a hit.
themaninblack 2,112 Posted September 26, 2006 18 May 1990 (Jill Ireland) - 23 March 1992 (Jim Joel - who?). That will never be beaten. Looking at the 1991 list though I'm surprised there were no hits. That said, there are a few, shall we say 'premature' predictions. But this of course was early days and not as well researched and debated as it is now. It's a blip - the stiffs will come...eventually!

Who would have thought that Bob Mould would end up doing gay disco?

Octopus of Odstock 2,194 Posted September 26, 2006 Stop yer moaning everyone - the DL has it's 8th hit, Mr. Byron Nelson. Byron Nelson But as for the DL breaking its record this year, I'd have to say it's unlikely as things stand right now.
