Sarah Knauss was 117 years, 204 days when Jeanne Calment died. Lucile Randon is currently 117 years, 191 days.

If Tanaka, Randon, dos Santos and da Santa Cruz are all still alive for Randon's 118th birthday on 11th February 2022 (quite unlikely as it's still nearly six months away) the world would have one person aged 119, one aged 118, one aged 117 and one aged 116.

Surprisingly it was the younger two of this top 4 who didn't make it.

There is also Matsu Gaja (reported as oldest living person in Okinawa) who is still not officially validated, and was born in February 1908.

Got a pacemaker due to a heart disease at 103 and has had two battery replacement surgeries, in 2015 and 2021.

Oldest person living, maybe the oldest person ever with a pacemaker? Taka Tsuji and Emilio Flores Marquez had one but both died at 113.

Kahoru also seems to be in better condition than most Japanese Supercentenarians who are frail. At 113 she could still walk a little. At 112 she had said that she wants to live longer. She reportedly did gymnastics, and she could use the toilet by herself.

Even after 100 she grew vegetables in the fields.

73?

Well, wouldn't be suprised if she was.

She claims to have a 90-year old son, youngest of her 14 children is only 65. However there's always a chance he isn't her son. Or that the son is also faking his age.

Many of these poor countries have had shitty record keeping and seems like the only 100+ people whose age can be confirmed are the famous ones who have done something noteworthy. Akintola Williams, Charles Njonjo, Florence Alice Lubega etc.

Some people on the internet seem to believe these claims like yoga guru Swami Sivananda. Not sure if it's just the lack of knowledge about these things or they refuse to believe the world's oldest person is "only" 119 and doesn't miraculously look like someone who's 50 years younger.

That's true. Sadly for some African countries, record keeping was still poor right up until the 1950s/60s.

Other countries in Asia, South America etc. had much better records by the late 1920s, and so we should see more supercentenarians being verified from those continents in a decade or two.

One thing having a keen interest in longevity has taught me is that there are so many barefaced liars in the world, even amongst older generations who should know better and you'd expect to have a lot more decorum and respect by that point e.g. Fauja Singh, Ruby Muhammad, Buster Martin etc. etc.

Suzanne Décélis, possibly the third-oldest French person dead at 112 according to 110club (and https://deces.matchid.io/search?q=décélis+suzanne+aimée)

Only three French people born before 1910 remain:

Lucile Randon, Irena Martial and Juliette Bilde. Martial, the oldest person in Guadeloupe seems to be very frail. Randon was reported to be "fine" yesterday and could end up being the last one.

I agree with you too - I think Lucile will outlive them.

Xhemile Susuri, unvalidated Kosovan supercentenarian and (if her age was correct) the oldest person in Kosovo and the Balkans dead at 111.

Could walk unaided last month, seems to have gone downhill pretty fast since.

As far as I know Zenepe Pirani (Wiki) is the oldest in my state.

Noticed that the oldest man in Germany, Hans Schornack, was born on a leap day. Currently the oldest living person to have been born on a leap day and the third-oldest ever, he'll celebrate 110 years since his birth (can you call it a birthday?) on the 1st of March if he makes it that far. If he makes it to the 12th of September he'll become the oldest person born on a leap day.

Hans Schornack, oldest man in Germany, has now become the first man born on a leap day to become a supercentenarian.

Maria Farrugia reached 110 on the 7th of March, becoming the first supercentenarian from Malta.

The class of 1910 men is still strong, but we'll see how many are still alive in 2023, here are the (known) ones remaining from 1909 and 1910. Still a lot of people blocking some Indian news sites from calling Fauja Singh the "world's oldest man":

Pictures of some below their name. Now also with the 1911 cohort

Ja Hyung Lee (27 August 1910-) South Korea-Canada. Could still walk with a walker in September. One of the oldest people in Canada.

Looks healthy for 115, she could become WOLP in the future. There is also a fairly big age gap between her and Tekla Juniewicz.

30 days is still a lot for a 119-year-old who was "critically ill" three months ago and has needed a nasal cannula for over a year, I hope she makes it though.

R. Young said over two months ago:

Yes, she has made it through 2021, though it was a health challenge, and that challenge continues in 2022. But there are signs of recent improvement so maybe there will be the delayed birthday celebration, who knows.

Apparently it was a flu and she recovered in January.
Quite impressed to see her reach Sarah Knauss’ age honestly, wouldn’t have bet on it but seems like I was wrong ! The only thing I wish is for Randon to have her moment as wolp now, even if it’s for 2 days..

also it makes me realise now, how incredible Calment’s age really was ! 122 is 3 years away from Tanaka, it seems unrealistic to reach such an age but she did it

Actually, as Kane keeps going and going and growing older Calment's age seems less unrealistic. It seemed very unrealistic when strong WOLPs were falling dead one after another without achieving to reach a 118th birthday.

Yeah. Also remember that Knauss was in (seemingly) better condition than Kane, but suddenly dropped dead. Of course, Kane can actually have a stronger organism than Knauss, despite frailer appearance, tremor etc.
