Peter Sutcliffe

Well, at least he is better at it than Carlos the Jackal!

Or Ian Brady, for that matter. Perhaps they should get these two together to offer mutual support.

if these guys want to go on hunger strike, why don't the wardens just say, "great - good luck, anything we can do to help?" This would solve the problem of the enormous expense to the public of having to keep them in prison, without having to bring in the death penalty.

if a problem has a means of sorting itself out, then let it.....

Sutcliffe, whom had worked as a gravedigger, had claimed that 'voices' emanating from the gravestone of a deceased Polish woman had ordered him to kill prostitutes. Further, Sutcliffe told the hushed court that the voice he had heard was that of God.

Does this mean that God is a Polish woman?

That depends, does God make you feel guilty? :banghead:

Pretty good beard for a lady. One of the advantages of omnipotence, I suppose.

Does this make Harold Shipman the king?

I'd say that should be Tony Bliar - for all the innocent civilians killed in Iraq.

It's possible Sutcliffe could be released in 2011,

if he's deemed no longer a threat to society.

What a lovely possibility. Now if only he'd been hanged.

If they formed a queue, would it be a convoy?

We were being invited to 'hail' him last June, the response hasn't exactly been overwhelming.

I dunno- if John Humble is a deathlister then I guess it could be argued that he's been doing his best. B)

He's an interesting case, given the documentary last night.

It didn't say where and under what conditions he's serving his sentence. If he's in a normal prison and mingling with the rest of the population there's likely to be someone in the next four years (assuming remission for good behaviour) who'll want to get up close and personally violent with the man.

Who? Sutcliffe or Humble? I thought Sutcliffe was still in Broadmoor?

It'd be ironic if either were in Armley nick mind you... A bit too close to the scene of the crime to put it mildly.

Sorry Vinegar Tits, I was meaning Humble. Sutcliffe's in Broadmoor till he croaks, end of. Humble went to Wakefield when they arrested him and the Yorkshire police handled the investigation, so he could have gone to Armley. Does anyone know where he is?

Either way, I reckon in jail it'll be......Hard to be Humble, Arf!
