As Hirohito’s sister in law is there anyone else alive that closely linked with a leader from WWII if she dies?

Hirohito has four living children.

Updates today suggesting she's deteriorated further, and that more members of the Imperial Royal Family have travelled to be at her bedside.

This is the end, and we're talking days.

Incredibly selfish of her not to hold on just another few weeks for the Advent Avalanche.

Age at death: 101

Known health issues: Fitted with a pacemaker in 1999, heart failure and pneumonia in 2020, hospitalised in 2021 due to severe arrhythmia, hospitalised with COVID in 2022. Hospitalised with stroke and aspiration pneumonia in March 2024, in ICU with pneumonia in August 2024, multiple organ failure in November 2024.

Cause of death: Multiple organ failure, as the real firebrand Immortal she was.

Alignment: Hmmmm... did she actually do something beside being in the Imperial family? Well, yes, she survived three of her children, and her husband Prince Takahito, who prematurely died in 2016 at 100, while she was already in worse health than him.

Earlier reports that Alexander Mitta entered hospice care due to advanced kidney cancer are baseless rubbish according to his son. I saw the news and was sure there was a denial ready.

The Mighty Chavalit Yongchaiyudh was in hospital recently and rumoured to be in very serious condition. Anyway, exactly as you expect, here's the family denial with new photos of him playing with his great granddaughter.

Silvia Pinal out of ICU. They were asking for prayers yesterday but apparently she has greatly improved since.

Also, interesting article on Dr. Nakamats here. He had a brain stem stroke (caught early) in 2021 and a heart attack late last year (some articles say it was his third one), but is preparing to run for Governor of Tokyo...in 2028.

They are selected by nature to be the best of the best. A normal person who had to go through what Pinal or Dr. NakaMats have gone through would be dead ten times at least. 2024 is a tough class. The best performers IMHO were:

1)Chavalit Yongchaiyudh (1932): survived being recently in ICU with multiple health issues. And fresh denial by family within days.

2)Silvia Pinal (1931): survived first hospitalization in ICU; then hospitalised again in ICU, now on the mend yet again.

3)Shmuel Kamenetsky (1924): the guy survived a massive stroke at 99. He has been out and about for all November and actively campaigning for Trump. Incredible.

4)Jean Marie Le Pen (1928): surviving an illness that would have killed anyone else, probably.

5)Alexander Mitta (1933): survived massive stroke, kidney cancer, multiple organ failure at 90. Fresh denial by his family on his conditions!

6)Jayapataka (1948): well, he is Jayapataka. He is not even human.

I can't see any of these recently mentioned people dying in the next two weeks atleast. None of them feel that near to death, but three deaths here in two months just feels like too few.

I'd say it's much more likely that one of the following dies soon:

Zou Yu: 104, pulmonary oedema somewhere around five years ago and not able to make any appearances in recent years.

Yu Miu-lin: 87, pulmonary fibrosis and leukemia combo. Remarkably stable, but could realistically die any day.

Violeta Chamorro: 95, suffering from brain tumors, advanced dementia and had a debilitating stroke in 2018.

Paulo Maluf: 93, prostate cancer for years and now suffering from advanced mixed dementia.

Zhu Rongji: 96, advanced parkinson's.

Khamtai Siphandone: 100, massive stroke in 2016, heart problems, not seen since 2021 when he was already extremely frail.

Chiam See Tong: 89, multiple strokes and so far gone with parkinson's that he did not react to anything around him in 2019.

Jayapataka, Nakamatsu and Mahathir make no sense to me. You'd think the ailments they've had in the last years would've killed them or atleast slowed them down somewhat, but all three are regularly attending events and active on social media almost daily.

Silvia Pinal suffering from multiple infections now including lung infections, fed through a tube but to be discharged tomorrow.

To be honest, I'm seeing she is one of the figures who is suffering the most with all these hospitalizations here on the forum. A person shouldn't suffer that much. May God give her a solution.

Silvia Pinal's condition deteriorated last night; all her family rushed by her side. I guess they are putting together a nice denial.

No more denying. Son says she's in the process of dying and could have hours left :pop:

Some sources claim both of her lungs have collapsed, she's receiving hospice care and has received last rites.

Silvia Pinal (1931-2024)

"She is perfectly fine, not even hospitalised" (Family denial, level 1)

"Ok, she was in hospital, but is much better now" (Family denial, level 2)

"Ok, she is still in hospital, but out of ICU" (Family denial, level 3)

"Ok, she is still in ICU, just needs a little supplementary oxygen" (Family denial, level 4)

"Ok, she's dead, but one day even Jimmy Carter will die!!!" (Highest possible level of denial)

image.jpeg.607a05f8dc9a76f59bffe98552eb1324.jpeg

Age at death: 93

Known health issues: Wheelchair bound for years, hospitalised in ICU with heart disease and COVID in December 2021, hospitalised in ICU wuth aspiration pneumonia in December 2022, hospitalised in ICU in December 2023, hospitalised in March 2024, hospitalised in ICU in November 2024.

Cause of death: Dead? No, no, by now she has surely been discharged.

Alignment: One of the greatest actresses of Mexican cinema and very beautiful in her prime. Melted into a wax statue in her later years. Also had a political stint as senator, and fought for civil rights in the 80s.

Enrile's facebook is amusing. Each to their own, but if I'd live to 100 I'd try to not spend my remaining months debating randoms online.

Alexander Mitta suffering from gangrene due to advanced cancer and poor blood circulation and might undergo amputation of a foot/leg.

Anyways, does not sound that serious: He is at the Botkin Hospital for examination, he feels more or less well.

His son recently issued a total denial. I think we will see more of Mitta at the next Olympics.

The Big Jiew is critical in ICU with sepsis, UTI and pneumonia. He has been hospitalised since a biopsy last month.

Edit: From earlier family comments, although not directly stated, sounds like he suffers from a form of cancer that causes "wounds and infections" and they've prepared for his condition to go critical.

Edit 2: He's apparently conscious and able to communicate. Still critical and very ill. Hours or days?
