Left from the very first generation of Immortals:

1)Jimmy Carter (1924): the King of Kings. Among his achievements, he survived metastatic cancer in his 90s, severe brain hemorrhage and has been in hospice care for almost two years. Apparently stronger than ever. God mode.

2)Joanne Woodward (1930): advanced Alzheimer's since at least 2008, reportedly in hospice care last year. Top tier.

3)David Musuguri (1920): diabetes for years, multiple hospitalizations, in hospital for months last year. Top tier.

4)Saalumarada Thimmakka (1928, alleged 1910): multiple hospitalizations, survived "extremely critical conditions" in 2023, almost unheard since. Top tier.

...

Saalumarada Thimmakka hospitalised in ICU.

I was just looking her up as Tulsi Gowda died. She is one of most fucking overdue people on Earth.

Mentioned in this thread previously - Tsuneo Watanabe, Japanese newspaper executive, dead aged 98.

Yes, one of my suggestions for the 2025 list.

Quite an interesting guy. Communist-turned media tycoon who called himself "the Dictator" due to his influence on politics and baseball and said he was delighted in having political parties under his control. Definitely helped shape Japan into what it is now.

He was completely sure he'd make it to 100 despite looking like a corpse these last 4 years. Apparently he had a fall earlier this month, went back to work and got pneumonia. Most sources say he died at a hospital but there are claims he was found dead in his office by his secretary. Would've QO'd.

Edit: Judging on social media reaction to his death, he seems to have been their Rupert Murdoch...

Wow, wasn't expecting it, he seemed to go on crooking forever. Some years ago he tried to assemble a political league of superelders. Himself, Parkash Singh Badal, Mulayam Singh Yadav and HD Deve Gowda. Only Deve Gowda left out of them.

Which reminds me, I must pick up a tin of Quality Street for the guests on Christmas Day.

may I suggest a new immortal : French TV Host Michel Drucker (b. 1942) mentioned a few times around here and a lot of times in French circles.

Currently hospitalized for a "bad sore throat" (what does that even mean?). First open-heart surgery in 2020 at 78 following infection of his heart and leg by a bacteria + stroke. Then again open-heart surgery in 2023 for infectious endocarditis of the valve. Constantly hospitalized for minor issues in the last 4 years. His own brother, Jean, died of heart attack at 61.

Looks frailer and frailer but still seems unsinkable. Will see.

His on-screen longevity makes him a top-immortal in France and is often joked about.
