Mr Magoo 1 Posted October 12, 2005 Does anyone know if Lisa Leeson's breasts are as nice as Anna Friel's? If they are, I would count Nick's Divorce as his worst loss ever.
Cerberus 302 Posted October 13, 2005 I haven't got round to examining either of them yet, but when I do I'll be sure to let you know. Maybe not Mrs Cerberus though - she'd take a dim view I'm sure.

FiercePanda 0 Posted October 13, 2005 Hiya, i worked as a trader at the time. Nick leeson was a major scape goat for the downfall of the bank. There were so many more people involved in a huge racket like that-it cannot be possible for it to work solo. Nick was the boxing eqivelant of a taking a dive (he knew prison was coming). I bet he has a tidy sum all tied up in a new id somewhere on a nice sunny island. Good luck to him. there are plentyof people who he crossed but there are plenty of bigger people protecting him also. Cheers Fierce.

Magere Hein 1,400 Posted October 13, 2005 tribuneral Is that a combination of a tribunal and a funeral, with a firing squad sandwiched in, like they did with the Ceaucescus? regards, Hein
Saint Peter 14 Posted October 13, 2005 Actually, I admit it was all my fault. I was a greedy bastard and must pay for my sins. If that means being murdered gruesomely by an ill tempered Scotsman brandishing a spoon, then so be it. Cheers, Nick Leeson. Hi Nick, I was at the Hotel in KK while you were there!! FiercePanda 0 Posted October 13, 2005 I would like to say my obvious link with a funeral spelling was a genius combination of words-sadley just a pathetic spelling error!!! Damn,I could have looked like a cunning linguist but honesty took hold of my senses. Fierce

Dr Strangelove 14 Posted October 14, 2005 Hiya,i worked as a trader at the time. For Bearings? Or some other bank - in another city no doubt? Nick leeson was a major scape goat for the downfall of the bank. There were so many more people involved in a huge racket like that-it cannot be possible for it to work solo. Evidence? I haven't seen anything to disprove that he was an incompetent bastard who lost a S**t load of money. Nick was the boxing eqivelant of a taking a dive (he knew prison was coming). I bet he has a tidy sum all tied up in a new id somewhere on a nice sunny island. So why does he carry on with his current name, trading on his notoriety? FiercePanda 0 Posted October 14, 2005 Who is defensive one now!! Firstly, who I worked for is none of your business. You have to a fool to believe that one man can do all this (and not come out with a penny) on their own!!! The word SCAPEGOAT springs to mind. Evidence-what are you the defense barrister!?? The whole point is that he has served his time and it is all over now-mission accomplished .I would be very happy with the result if i was the other people. "Incompetant bastard"-I would say more of genius!! They call me FiercePanda

Guest Paul Posted October 15, 2005 Hi all, Personally, I think there is an argument to suggest that people like Nick are necessary. Now, true, he brought down a major financial institution, but he didn't kill anyone, or cause anyone physical pain. By all accounts it cannot be denied that he's a top man and nice guy. He broke the law, he went and served his time, he's square now. What this leaves us with is an amazing story, that we can argue and debate until we're blue in the face. The number of questions that spring from a story like Nick's are massive. Did he profit? How the hell did it happen? Were Barings aware? and so on and so forth. By saying he is necessary, I mean to say that his story adds to the already large number of interesting stories that people can debate over. The relatively harmless nature of his "crime" allows us to take a more compassionate view of Nick and IT IS possible to successfully argue the...shall we say, "humanitarian card" over the cold hard fact that he broke the law and come out liking him on top. As far as the shareholders and 1200 people or so that were fired goes, yes its a shitty deal for them, but it's a hell of a story. My humble opinion, PS: Yes, we need to see more of the lovely ms. Friel.
