It's much worse than that ... they've cremated her.

Confusion abounds. Did you realize, I guess, that there are TWO Hildegardes!! There's the German Hildegard (no e at the end) who died around 2-1-02. She was a German actress named Hildegard Knef and died at age 76. Then there is the incomparable Hildegarde (with an e) who died at age 99 around July 29 or August 1, 2005. Is this weird? Anyone have a good site for the New York caberet singer, Hildegarde (with e)? Need info on her death. tnx. Gart

Giant Haystacks? Big Daddy? Pat Roach? ;)

As opposed to that midget wrestler, who was always getting the sh*t kicked out of him.

through research i have found the wrestler's name to be Big Show. God his parents must have hated him. Great intuition though.

For the New Year's Honours i reckon to the following

3) That really big wrestling bloke - The Big Show?

7) Pope Benedict, Joseph Ratzinger - In which i dislike. Even though i was no diehard fan of PJP2 i would rather have him as our beloved pope anyday. Atleast PJP2 seemed like a wonderful man.

8) Jack Klugman - Klungman should most definitly be added

to the 2006 DL. Here's thee IMDB -

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001430/

11) Maggie Thatcher - I don't know if it will be next year or in 5 maybe 10 years but i would sure as hell like to see her kick that bucket.

18) Courtney Love - I think after 10+ years she's gotten over

the death of rocker Kurt Cobain. Though she still seems to live a very wild lifestyle - Like Keith Richards it would be a very risky prediction to place her on the DL.  :P

23) George Best - I heard he has kidney trouble and if it worsens then he will come to mind, otherwise i hope we won't have to consider him for a while.

32) Robert Mugabe - His name is familiar i recall he was a former DL participent.

33) Princess Margret - Well since she's royalty.

34) Keith Richards - I chated about his part in the under Cortney Loves name.

36) Patrick Moore - I trust the members of the DL saying he's becoming more frail. I don't know about him going this year but the future looks bright.

Those are my very honest and wise opinions.

I put him in the near miss forum. twice this year he looked like he was on the way out. Maybe the third scare will be the last

32) Robert Mugabe - His name is familiar i recall he was a former DL participent.

Dictator of Zimbabwe. Looking frail and upsetting far too many of his own people. Perhaps up for assasination some time in 2006

I doubt many people would shed any tears for him if that were to occur.

watching what he's done to that nation i hope any attempt on his life would involve locking him in irons and throwing cabbages, hot bovril and gravel at him first.

Does this work like the Fantasy Football League? if so i want to sub the following.

Princess Anne for Mollie Sugden

Mrs T for Adam West

Jack Nicholson for Conrad Bain - the possibly paedophillic Mr Drummond from Dif'rent Strokes.

Jack Nicholson for Conrad Bain - the possibly paedophillic Mr Drummond from Dif'rent Strokes.

I doubt Jack Nicholson will be going anywhere anytime soon.

Although Conrad Bain has to be atleast 80 years old so perhaps

he should be considered in the future.

Here's his IMDB - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0047699/

I agree. I have not seen any reports of Jack Nicholson having any health problems and at age 68, he is a spring chicken by DL standards.

I see that voice of reason and all-around good guy Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, announced at the laugh-a-minute "World without Zionism" conference that Israel should be wiped off the map. Surely Mossad, or even a rogue agent acting free lance, will be chomping at the bit to take him out, much the way the Israeli air force blew up Saddam's nuclear facility at Osirak when they got worried he might get the bomb.

A long shot for 2006, for sure, but it would be a great one to get right.

That said, he is making fewer films than he used to. Obviously slowing down in his dotage. Look at the IMDB to see the trickle of films made in the last ten tears or so...

Guest Jersey Girl

I have participated in Death Pools with friends for a couple of years. This year, I have two lists with 15 names each for a total of thirty. Thus far, I have, sadly, more deaths than this list - 12 out of 30. I have a few suggestions for next year:

Lillian Asplund (Titanic survivor)

Miep Gies (hid Anne Frank during WWII)

Karl Malden :(

Luise Rainer

Debra Kerr (I have read her health is quite poor)

Abligail Van Buren (ditto)

The others I have are on your list already.

The two I've highlighted aren't really famous enough for DeathList.

Miep Gies, maybe a bit obscure.

She has got her own thread in the Forum though, so who knows.

As has Luise Rainer.

Abigail Van Buren not famous enough? She's the twin of Ann Landers. Born Pauline Esther Friedman, she is the columnist of Dear Abby (unless she's retired) a very popular advice column. Here's a sample:

Dear Abby, my boyfriend Hank (I can't use his real name cause he'd kill me) is going to Spain next week with his wife. I don't want him to go with her because I need a date for Senior Prom should I dump him like my best friend Wanita says?

sign me, Confused Teen

Dear Confused Teen,

Your boyfriend sounds like trouble, perhaps you should report him to the local authorities.

Abby has saved many relationships too heres an example

Dear Abby

I got pregnant with an alien and want to live with him on his spaceship but my husband said he will leave me if I do. What should I do?

signed, Desperate Housewife

Dear Desperate,

Stay with your husband he seems like a gem.

How could you think Abigail Van Buren is an unknown?

Well hush my mouth.

Dear Abby is an American icon.

Is she that well known outside of the USA?

I don't think Denis Norden has been mentioned recently - 84 in February. Others from the "world of entertainment": Bill Pertwee, Warren Mitchell, Leslie Phillips, Jack Douglas ("Carry On" regular), Raymond (or Stanley) Baxter ... can't think of any ladies for some reason, except Dame Vera Lynn, who's been discussed at length, and June Whitfield, who I reckon is good for a few more years.
