I know this will probably be merged immediately but should Babs be on Dl 2006? She has been in bad health and is knocking on a bit.

MOD edit: If you know it'll be merged, put it in the right place!

I don't agree cwith that. I would say that she should be on next year's list if she has any more major health scares though.

Richard O'Brien was born on March 25th, 1942 according to imdb. At only 63, he is a spring chicken by DL standards. Do you know of any life threatening illness that he might be suffering from? If so, can you provide us with a link?

BTW welcome to the forum.

Regards,

ff :D

IMBD 12m2ob.jpgav5424wt.jpg

Is this what you are suggesting?

Edit: Images removed by Captain Oates to protect the innocent. Send a PM if you really must see them.

She's probably got years in front of her yet. I'll stick my neck out and say between 5 and 10.

Coronation Streets Liz Dawn (Mrs. Duckworth) has an incurable lung disease.

Perhaps 2007/08?

She renewed her contract for a year and she claims that she is doing very well so I would imagine she has a few years left.

Some veteran broadcasters for yor consideration:

David Jacobs (b 1926)

Alan Freeman (b 1927)

Pete Murray (b 1928)

Brian Matthew (no DoB, but at least 80)

Humphrey Lyttleton (ditto)

Jimmy Young (ditto)

Johnny Walker (only 60, but recent cancer treatment)

Alan "Fluff" Freeman was I know mentioned on the Brinsworth House thread. Most of the others are still working.

Then from the TV side of things there are Raymond Baxter, Kenneth Kendall and Richard Baker.

All of whom have been mentioned before, but whose potential for dropping shouldn't be underestimated.

Guest essee

Ladybird Johnson who was mentioned before.

Former dictator Suharto of Indonesia is ailing and late 80s, surprised he is not on this years list.

New Pope Benedict (around 78) looks increasingly frail and tired and might not be around that long.

Have a look at jazz pianist Oscar Peterson (80) who still tours but has serious health issues and had brain attaques earlier.

Don't hear much of Jeltsin (mid 70s?) but he recently broke a leg and he seemed having Korzakoff or Alzheimer when I saw recent footage in a documentary.

Raymond Baxter..........is he still alive?

My gran met him in a lift at Broadcasting House 50 years ago.

They flirted. My mum who was with them at the time was embarrassed.

My gran was going to be a contestant in a radio program called "Does the team think?"

Ted Ray, Jimmy Edwards, Nancy Spain and Gilbert Harding I believe

Did the former cause the latter?

If so, can you meet Ronnie Biggs anytime soon? That don't need to be in Aberdeen, Recklinghausen will do.

Hein

Alan Freeman was so crippled with arthritis 5 years ago that he had to walk with a zimmer frame and lived in a nursing home, where he still is,,so Id be surprised if he lasts too much longer.

I've seen Pete Murray a few times recently.

He's very white-haired now, and walks with a stoop.

But he's very much alive.

Still got a radio show on LBC I think.

Don Van Vliet (aka Captain Beefheart)

Genius musician and artist.

Suffered from MS for years.

Could bow out at a round 65....
