I wonder if that's the "Michael Jackson syndrome". After all, the Dalai Lama was also a child star. He grew up only knowing how to utter feelgood slogans.

If they will insist on a selection process that makes the DL Committee’s pin-sticking piss-up seem like the acme of rigorous scientific analysis, these things are bound to happen.
