honez 79 Posted September 28, 2007 You know for next year.....I've been thinking about any one from the Buddhist monks of Burma. I'd want you to be more specific than that MPFC. Shouldn't be too hard, after all, there will only be two of them left by then.
Handrejka 1,904 Posted November 21, 2007 PoD is finally up to date. Sorry about delay
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 16, 2007 The obvious question really........POD 08, yes or no?
Handrejka 1,904 Posted December 16, 2007 Er, yes but not in January. I've left it too late to organise and there's a lot of "real life" stuff going on at the moment. So, I'm going to give you all a couple of months off and start my dead pool on May 1st instead.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted December 17, 2007 Great idea. Good luck with the real life stuff. I'm picking Christodoulus for that May start. Incidentally, I was wondering about 'any one from the Legends of Carlisle United' That means any of the guys in the famous team photo of the 74-75 First Division squad. All the backroom staff are dead and 2 of the 23 players - Alan Ross and Chris Balderstone - are dead. Of the others the oldest is Hughie McIlmoyle - 68 and a regular at United game to this day, very active. The youngest are in their fifties. For good measure I'd like to add Eddie Prudham, signed after the photo but a member of the legends team. Meaning it's any one from 22 former footballers aged 55(ish) to 68. If any die the local papers in Cumbria will doubtless report it, or the message boards on the CUFC sites. Okay?
Handrejka 1,904 Posted April 25, 2008 PoD will begin officially on 12th May and will run for 12 months. I'm accepting entries as of now. Please e-mail them to me or PM me, or if you're on facebook, you can send them to me via message. E-mail address is handrejka@yahoo.co.uk Couple of changes to the rules. I'm getting rid of the "5 celebs must be under 70 rule". There are already age penalties in place scoring wise so we don't need any more. Doesn't have to be a UK obit, but if it's a local none-uk obit it must be backed up by another source. The any one pick remains, but the group must contain no less than three eligable people and no more than 45. All other details remain the same.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted April 25, 2008 but the group must contain no less than three eligable people and no more than 45. So any one 'legend' of Carlisle United would be okay. The legends are those on the team picture of the 74/75 squad plus the one player we signed - Eddie Prudham. ALL the backroom staff in the famous picture are now dead along with two of the playing squad - Alan Ross and Chris Balderstone. Leaving 22 players then aged from early twenties to mid-thirties. The oldest survivor - Hughie McIlmoyle - is now almost seventy, the youngest - Peter McLachlen - 58. The death of any one would be reported in the Cumbrian press. maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted April 28, 2008 Reet, I'm in. A question - since I've nominated Amy Smackhouse - does she qualify for a die on the job bonus if she ODs anywhere in public, club, tourbus etc. Only, I'd suggest part of her 'job' is simply strolling around in front of the paps and their cameras. Also, I'm assuming any one of mine who dies between now and May 12th could be replaced, right? There's nowt about that either way in the rules.
Handrejka 1,904 Posted April 28, 2008 Hi MPFC Yes any that die between now and the 12th can be replaced. I'll have a think about Amy

The For Whores Man 4 Posted May 13, 2008 So there's CP and me, and............? I have joined the Hajndreka poolofdeath. I have many intersting selections and I hope a few are unique. I like people who is involved in politics or revolution or crime (or both). I really look forward to seeing some exciting death this year. Look out for Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, co-leader of the Islamic Courts of Somalia. The USA don't like him too much, and have assassinated many of his colleaques and firends so far. He lives in extreme dangerous situation. Good luck everybody! TFWM
DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted May 13, 2008 It's like the Chelsea squad. These deadpool lists are growing ever more international. But I don't think we've had an Eskimo yet. Oddly enough I didn't consider that when picking my team, I was more concerned with correcting my former habit of not picking any women. I'm not really too bothered about it though, I'm an internationalist at heart. Just wait until my "Poorly Polynesian and Mortally Ill Melanesian" theme team hits the CPDP this year. Canadian Paul 97 Posted June 9, 2008 Erick Wujick WuJCIk has died... I suspect that I'll even have trouble getting the proper obit on Handy's much more forgiving DP... I'm not certain how the two who selected him on the DDP will fare... but if Cole Kugel got one, anything is possible.
DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted June 10, 2008 Tyrone Jones (CFL player) Two hits in a day for Canadian Paul, Tyrone Jones has died of brain cancer at the age of 46. As for Wujick, I'd say his UK obit chances are quite slim - but if the in laws of Norwegian Royalty can get one, I don't think it is beyond the realms of possibilty for Wujick to get a fleeting mention somewhere. Banshees Scream 110 Posted June 10, 2008 As for Wujick, I'd say his UK obit chances are quite slim I expect his obituary coverage to be a lesson to myself. I think in mid December we all go through some frenzy of unlimited possibilities and since I knew Wujcik wasn't going to be alive by the end of the year, I took a gamble. It's a shame I didn't spot Yo-Sam Choi instead.
