Guest iain Posted March 10, 2006 I've just heard Tony Blair's comments in full, and he did go on to mention Profumo's charity work ... some rather selective editing on the mid-day news on radio 2. sounds a bit like the selective reporting of his Parkinson interview re God..I tuned in to the interview expecting bLAIR TO BE RAVING ON ABOUT how the good Lord determines his every move only o be bemused when the subject wa s only mentioned once briefly and only becausde Parky had raised the subject! themaninblack 2,112 Posted March 10, 2006 maybe Profumos death will start a spate of deaths of elderly British politicians..Michael Foot must be abut ready to croak..if he makes it to his 93rd birthday in july he'll become the longest living leader of any of the 3 major political parties inthe UK (Jim Callaghan holds the current record, dying one day before his 93rd birthday).Somehow I dont think old Michael merits that acheivment... Keep an eye on Ted Short (Labour Party Deputy Leader 1972-74).....

Tempus Fugit 214 Posted March 10, 2006 Resigned honourably, or Hobson's choice? TF, Is that a clever pun on the fact that his wife was the actress Valerie Hobson, who starred with John Mills in "Great Expectations", or am I giving you undue credit? Glad someone spotted it, yes it was deliberate. Valerie Hobson was a great actress, she was also in "Kind Hearts and Coronets" and "The Bride of Frankenstein." Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted March 10, 2006 Going back to the headline, my effort is: "The End of the Affair" For those of you who haven't a clue, it was the title of a Graeme Greene novel I believe. Not a great effort, but there you have it. DWB

Guest Guest Posted March 11, 2006 I've read that Christine Keeler is still alive as of today....does anyone know where she lives?
Banshees Scream 110 Posted March 11, 2006 I've read that Christine Keeler is still alive as of today....does anyone know where she lives? It seems the Deathlist's third scream has been heard as politician John Profumo has died of an apparent stroke. It seems his 1961 affair was his main highlight. This is Christine Keeler "And I didn't get the main headline untill just a second ago " Congratulations to the Deathlist committee. Very attractive.
ladydi007 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Nice comments and try by Blair. But the articles about his death highlight the affair, not the career of John Profumo.

in eternum+ 22 Posted March 12, 2006 I take ONE day off to go to the hairdressers, and we get a hit That happens whenever I go on holiday, perhaps if we both took the day off Mrs Thatcher might oblige us and snuff it? Perhaps if the three of us went elsewhere, we'd have a whole slew of successes?! Outside of DL success, I have no feelings whatsoever about Mr Profumo, but will wish him a somewhat belated Happy Eternity, wherever he now is... JP
maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted March 12, 2006 Some of the press coverage treated us to recent pictures of Christine Keeler who lives 'quietly' in North London. She looks as rough as a stray dog's rear end. She's not exactly a near-future contender but she stress and depression were written all over her face.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted March 18, 2006 Probably as fed up with it all as everyone else. Well I suppose with many pointless threads and annoying members it does make sense to forget about it all for a while. There was even a time recently where I pretty much choose to be suspended. If Grim Reaper had trouble finding the time to write the obituarys i'd love to have the job. Of course I couldn't expect him to let it go. It is great writing an obituary about a person dieing on your list and putting it up for all to see.
