maryportfuncity 10,687 Posted July 10, 2012 On another matter entirely. If Rangers start from the bottom, recruit a team of English League One stalwarts and the best youngsters they can grab from Glasgow and surrounding area (with a view to them staying up to Scottish League One), is the infamous Abroath vs Bon Accord scoreline in any danger? No. Didn't think so. Then again, it's surely an odds-on certainty that along with setting an all-time attendance record for Scots Division Three the new club's colllision with - say - East Stirlingshire might set a margin of victory record for the same league. Bring it on, or summat.

Bring it on, or summat. Wouldn't put any cash on it. They wouldn't even have the biggest ground in the division even if they keep Ibrox. Btw......did you know that on the same day as the 36-0, there was a 35-0 18 miles away in Dundee. The ref actually had it as 37 but went with the clubs scorekeeper when he put in the result. MPFC - nah, I think Rangers might score one against East Stirling at least before crushing defeat. Heh. Charon - Yes, and the club secretary of that team (or someone of those lines) had used to work for Bon Accord, so he phoned up to tell them his sides score and both sides thought they were making it up. I believe the 35-0 was rounded down to be charitably, no one believing it would be beatable for some time, let alone that very hour!

Bring it on, or summat. Aye, its possible. Realistically, there is a fair old Protestant gene pool of talent in those parts who would not wish to play for anybody but Rangers. Irrespective of what division they are in or whether they have to sell their players and play their matches on the back streets of Glasgow, I suspect, that they will still be a big enough draw for the talented individuals who can see the long game as opposed to short term pain, or summat. Mebbee there will be a cricket score in one of those games, it may be worth putting a bet on, when everything is sorted, stating that Rangers will score more than 10 goals in a game next season. I could 'appen.

charon 4,943 Posted July 13, 2012 Gate money drop? Aye in total, but probably every club in SPL + SFL will be up, apart from newcorpse. You should read the non OF forums, there is a feel good factor amongst the clubs who told them to gtf. Loads of people are going to go to neutral games etc. Celtic + Aberdeen fans sponsering players and kits at Raith etc. I am sorry they still live but they will expire within 3 months max, Big jig + Goains wages = 10,000 s/t's @ £300 which they won't get. Ibrox is more than a mil a month to run. They dont yet have a SFA licence so Div 3 is still a dream (unless they accept the sanctions still to come, of which there will be many). Remember they only have received 2 punishments so far, a meaningless 10 point deduction, and a fine which dies with the club. Thats it. Double contracts, payments to other clubs managers etc etc etc have still to come out and be punished on. Its ganna be gooooooooooood!

Dundee United, my team, get more money out of a Dundee derby than Rangers fans coming to Tannadice. As long as teams can keep there running costs down, all SPL teams, apart from Killie and Motherwell, who are (supposedly) in a very bad way financially, should be OK. I have full faith in our chairman !!!
Paul Bearer 6,134 Posted July 14, 2012 St Mirren chairman slams SFL for voting Rangers to fourth tier, says St Mirren will lose staff and blames SFL for damaging game. Five clubs could enter administration within weeks says St Midden St Mirren Chairman Stewart Gilmour. What a fucking hypocrite. He voted Rangers out of the premier league. Paul Bearer 6,134 Posted July 14, 2012 I read i the paper that two teams will vote yes. Stupid bastards. Dundee are abstaining from voting because they are getting promoted. Lets hope the dirty bigots rot in the 3rd division !! They still don't know if they are getting promoted yet. Dunfermline are saying they should stay up. Catch 22 do dunfermline Get relegated technically they finished bottom so should get relegated but only one team can get relegated dunfermline can argue that was rangers .With ross county replacing rangers that could be the relegation and promotion teams. Dundee didn't win the league so really they don't deserve to come up but dunfermline deserve to go down . I call for a playoff over 2 legs ,also would generate some money for the two Scottish teams too.

Sevco5088 (we don't know what name they will play under as HMRC/BDO may not allow any form of 'Rangers', and thats 'if' they survive for the first fixture.) got elected up to Div 3 and I wish the MSM would portray it as thus and not as ''Rangers'' put down to the bottom. No time for a play-off so I would expect Dundee to get the nod tomorrow. They got an 11,000 crowd yesterday and would be better equiped than Dunfie who downsized. Bibliogryphon 9,652 Posted July 16, 2012 OK Here is a solution from someone who knows nothing about football and just wants to be controversial. Celtic are given a place in the English/Welsh Championship and each season the winner of the reconstituted SPL goes in to the Conference play-offs for a spot in League 2. Unless of course Scotland vote for independence in 2014.
