Former teammate Bill Beaumont wept heavy tears as he said "Maurice was a powerful and very athletic rugby player. Mr.Colclough died at the tender age of 52 after a long battle against a brain tumour. Born in Oxford on September 2, 1953, this Virgo was educated at the Duke of York's Royal Military School, Dover and Liverpool University where he played for Liverpool RFC. He went on to become one of the first Englishmen to play in France where he caotaiined Angouleme.. Later he played for Wasps and Swansea. Unfortunately the obit does not include the splendid accompanying photograph.
