All this time I've been thinking this thread was about the man who used to present "The Crystal Maze". It seems as if I have been getting confused again.

Is everyone absolutely sure that Richard O'Sullivan is residing at Brinsworth House? :crossbone:

Yes, according to this

Whats the big deal with reaching 1000 in this thread?

Does he get eternal life? Does he become healthy again? Does it allow him to go forth on a comeback tour?

I'm more interested in Tempus Fugit's 2000 post to see what his new status will be (if he gets one).

You mean......he's not the black dynamo that sang Tutti Frutti?

Hell, I've wasted all these posts....

All that and much much more.

Short of phoning Brinsworth House, it's hard to tell.

And I assume they wouldn't give out details unless you were a relative???

You could pretend to be a relative.

I don't know.

I don't know how things work round here? Has anybody actually called someone on the list to find out their health before?

I don't think we've had anyone's phone number before.

Brinsworth House is 0208 898 8164.

I've been to Twickenham but never seen it? Has anybody been there?

Maybe we could break in & kidnap Dickie.

What is it about Richard O'Sullivan that makes him so popular? If I was being honest, I would have to say that Man About The House was hardly the greatest of comedies. But it is a reminder of a gentler age, I suppose.

He is one of the last of that generation left. When he dies, a whole history of Brit-Sit-Com will depart this mortal coil with him.

It's just a shame that people who didn't enjoy such shows when they were first shown will never get to see the suchlike again.

I feel honoured to have been around during that halcyon era.

Near misses and Ideas and Possibilities both cracked the 1000 replies, but I believe this is the first 'dedicated' thread to achieve this.

as it happens, the notion that dickie is about to shuffle off as he's in brinsworth is a flawed one. sure, he's been ill, but a rest home does not a hospice make. simon raven spent 34 years on the kent coast in a rest home (he was only 46 when he went in, if my math is correct), sallying forth to london for a few fleeting business meetings and less fleeting visits to massage parlours (verifiable).

god help us, we could be still banging on about this in thirty years. i hope i will have found a life by then.

and by the way - what the f**k does 'twunt' mean?
