Bijou in Queen's Crown 2 Posted January 8, 2006 I think Paul O'Grady is brilliant. His show is better than R+J's by miles. I can't wait for it to come back. I loved him as Lily as well. Blankety Blank was great and all the other stuff he did as Lily like 'The Avengers'. Anyone else like him?
Godot 149 Posted January 8, 2006 Is he going to die soon? Do you know something I don't? Should he be on my list?

Tempus Fugit 214 Posted July 1, 2006 (edited) Looks like he's had another heart attack, so he could be worth consideration depending on the severity. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5135750.stm I started this new thread because the other Paul O'Grady one is locked, can they be merged please. They said the next 48 hours are crucial and hopefully he should make a full recovery.
Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted July 1, 2006 O'Grady to make complete recovery However, he's had two attacks and he's not even 55. I can't help wondering if he's going to die early like Eric Morecambe or Peter Sellers, who, IIRC, also had a history of heart-attacks at a young age. (Well, certainly Sellers did)

(Well, certainly Sellers did) His Dad and Mum both had heart problems and his Dad died of a heart attack. I just hope he recovers and takes it alot easier because he doesn't act his age at all that's why so many people love him. But he has to take it easy now. Banshees Scream 110 Posted July 1, 2006 O'Grady to make complete recovery However, he's had two attacks and he's not even 55. I can't help wondering if he's going to die early like Eric Morecambe or Peter Sellers, who, IIRC, also had a history of heart-attacks at a young age. (Well, certainly Sellers did) There must be some obvious cause, perhaps a heavy smoker in his 50's, very overweight or addicted to some heavy pain killer. A bad sex life or just a wife that is a 24 hour a day bitch. Although I suppose there is a chance that his heart troubles occur because of his genes. Atleast that is a recent discovery science often braggs about.
Star Crossed 33 Posted July 1, 2006 ... or just a wife that is a 24 hour a day bitch. Shouldn't this be in the Irony thread? I was saving my 400th post for something decent, but I just couldn't help myself. I've let myself and the DL down; I apologise.
Bijou in Queen's Crown 2 Posted July 1, 2006 He'll hopefully stop smoking now. He has to. I'd hate for this to happen again.
Bijou in Queen's Crown 2 Posted July 2, 2006 Paul is thankfully going to make a full recovery. I can't wait to see him back to his old self.
maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted July 2, 2006 Eric Morecombe had his first heart attack aged - I think - 44, he was a heavy smoker for a long time and the care in those days wasnt' a patch on the current medical knowledge. O'Grady is unlikely to see his eighties but could go on working for decades yet.
Windsor 2,233 Posted July 2, 2006 (edited) It said on the radio that he was staying in hospital to have an operation to unclog some arteries to his heart. The radio never lies (except Radio 1)! Dr Hackenslash 25 Posted October 10, 2006 Where has Paul O'Grady vanished to? Seems a shame. Not seen him about at all. Nice chap. Apart from "Eyes Down" or whatever the sitcom was called...
MizzJacktheCat 0 Posted January 16, 2007 Just before today's show they announced that O'Grady couldn't do today's show, instead they would be showing a repeat. I doubt anyone would have noticed, but before the previous programme they were still trailing the live programme, so it seems a bit of a sudden decision. Another heart attack maybe? MizzJacktheCat 0 Posted January 16, 2007 I'm shocked he has a daughter. Seems odd to have a sudden absence though when that report is a week old.
