I last saw him in person in November and apart from using a walking stick he seemed in good health. In general he makes less appearances than Sylvester & Peter, but he's got a few UK cons scheduled for the rest of this year and then he, like Sylvester, is expected in America in February for Gallifrey One.

Edit: He was in Long Island USA last month, picture of him here with a balloon version of himself (top left).

Wow, Annette Badland has lost a lot of weight!

Another form spotting opportunity on 3 November 2024: London Film Fair

Doctor Who: Garrick Hagon, David Sibley, Simon Williams

Star Wars: Garrick Hagon, Mike Randall

Blake's 7: Sidney Keane, Carol Royle, Sabina Franklin, David Sibley

Plus movie franchises 'Indiana Jones' and 'James Bond'.  Most of the names listed above and on the site would fit in the Corrie and Character Actors threads too.

Nigel Lambert (IMDb) being reported as dead earlier this month.

In Doctor Who he played Hardin in The Leisure Hive (1980) and voiced the 'Priest Triangles' in Flux (2021) as well as a number of Big Finish credits. Also amongst his many credits is voicing a computer in the pilot episode of Blake's 7.

Also voiced the father of the Dolmio family in the TV adverts.

His character in The Leisure Hive was definitely having it away with Adrienne Corri! Was also the voiceover in Look Round You. RIP.

While you're here, go give your 2021 list a good spring clean. It was a useful reference guide but not now as so many of them are dead.

A table showing how many credited cast members are still living from every single episode of Classic Doctor Who.

It's been over 2 years since I originally posted this chart, so I thought it was time for an update as there have been quite a few of developments.

An Unearthly Child, The Edge of Destruction, Planet of the Giants, Mission to the Unknown, The Power of the Daleks, The Deadly Assassin are all down to the final surviving cast member (Carole Ann Ford for the first three, Edward de Souza for Mission, Anneke Wills for Power, and Tom Baker for Assassin). The Rescue most probably has only one living cast member (Maureen O'Brien) due to almost no information being known on guest actor Tommy 'Tom' Sheridan and that episode being his final IMDb credit. The Ultimate Foe no longer has any living guest cast, but both regulars (Colin Baker & Bonnie Langford) are still alive. Of the 5 serials with no living members of the regular cast there are at least a couple of the guest actor, confirmed to still be alive.

David Daker dead then?

No?

There are no regulars from the Time Warrior, but Daker and Donald Pelmear are 100% still alive. Steve Brunswick is credited as playing a sentry in that serial, it's his only known credit and it is not known if he's living or dead.

0 living main cast, 3 living guest cast with an asterisk to note that one of the three is not known.

The Dr Who actors list, updated. Some previously missing people added, some really obscure extras removed, I swear every few years I remove all the dead people and wind up with a list 50 names bigger than the last time. Have gone to everyone who will be 60 in 2025, given the spate of actors dying in their 60s of late. As usual its not everyone, as some folks ages (hello Young Silurian) are MIA. With most of the "they'll obit anyway" I've tried to give educated guesses (hence circa).

All of these people were checked this week and are seemingly alive, though some of the more obscure (hello Ronald Rich) might turn out to be dead months after the fact. Think I caught all the doublers too, though the best way to spot them is to press post, then wait 5 minutes for someone on the DL to immediately spot any errors!

ALSO as this is very large, for the benefit of folk on mobile phones, please do not quote the entire list just to make one comment. @ing me or quoting the relevant bit only will suffice.

Bravo @msc!

Ronald Rich has always puzzled me. His role in You Only Live Twice was very well received, and you would have thought a 6'8 blonde actor would have found more roles! A year later he just disappeared from acting altogether. I'd love to know why he quit.

Also interesting that we know he was born circa 1939. I'm guessing "Ronald Rich" is a pseudonym though, or at least it sounds like one.

Can't believe Roy Evans is still alive. He has looked old since 1980

Sort of a Dr Who version of Sapphire and Steel. Bert the miner died but his actor lives on. The other miner survived but his actors been dead over forty years!

While checking my notes in preparation for 2025, I realized I hadn't posted this write up with photos from the Spring (March 2024) London Comic Con.

--

It has been a while since I had the chance to do some field work.  A collector who deals in comics I’ve worked with was attending the event, so I took the opportunity to see him in person.  I attended this event on the Sunday (March 3rd) and can give these updates.

Billie Piper – was present on Saturday, didn't see her as she was doing photo ops and signing
Julian Glover – did not attend on Saturday, photo session cancelled
Sheila Reid - did not attend on Saturday, photo session cancelled; she played Etta in ‘Vengeance on Varos’
Slyvester McCoy – on site on Sunday, didn’t see him
Colin Baker – was at the meet & greet table, animated and engaging with the long line of fans; he’s a big man with thinning white hair and his voice carried in the hall
Julian Bleach – did not realize the older man was him, as he is now 60!  Long line of avid fans waited to see him
Frasier Hines – for someone who turned 80 in September, he looked good.  Was outgoing and lively with the enthusiastic fans that made the longest line in the hall to meet any of the actors and even after a while, there were always people lined to speak with him;  a bit tricky to grab a snap of as his minders were on the look out for anyone taking pictures, hence the odd angle.
And saving the best of last!
Bonnie Langford – came up to her table with fists pumping in the air to a line of fans maybe a fifth of that for Hines, and her entrance was interrupted by a conga line of visitors in their costumes!  And she’s clad in p/leather.  Don’t worry I’ve got a pic for you @YoungWillz, as her minders didn’t care.

  • Julian Glover - General Veers, just turned 89 but is still just as active as he ever has been

3. Julian Glover - Appeared in a season 6 episode, maybe he was too busy but according to IMDb he doesn't seem to have a lot on.

Julian Glover yesterday at a comic con. Has a walking stick but otherwise active.

I think it was @Commtech Sio Bibble comments that first made me wonder if something was up after Glover's absence at the March 2024 Comic Con.  Given he was sighted a month ago (and the search function worked!), maybe it was nothing (thanks @Octopus of Odstock).

The search function didn't turn this up and in my thoughts that something was amiss, I did find this from July 2020:

Star Wars actor sells props after lockdown 'sort out

My mum bumped into Julian Glover about a year ago and he was in fine form for his age (and out and about) then, though obviously he's now at an age where you can go downhill quickly.

Confirmed by friends in the know that Michael Keating (Vila from Blake's 7) has severe dementia and is now very unwell. Shame, he was a nice chap.

Vila would have no hesitation of putting him on a dead pool. Business is business y'know!

I've only just started watching Blake's 7, I'm planning on finishing (the Blake-less) series 3 tonight. Vila has easily been my favourite character out of the many greats so far. Sad news.
