So which actor or actress holds the title of the oldest surviving member of a Doctor Who cast now? There is bound to be some enthusiast out there who knows

What role did he play in Doctor Who?? I can't find his credit on Dr Who on his IMDB page, nor place him in any serial.

He appeared in the series in 1967. He played Padmasambhava in episodes 2 to 6 in the story The abominable Snowmen

I got it wrong.Aubrey Morris wasn't in Dr Who after all. By the way Earl Cameron is now the oldest living ex Dr Who actor. He was in the Tenth Planet. He's 98

Incidentally Olaf Pooley was also the oldest living actor from Star Trek. He only inherited that title when Ellen Albertina Dow died in may.

He was in Babylon 5 and he was famously the Captain in the Bath in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (TV)

He was also in the Ripping Yarns episode of "Curse of The Claw" as Grosvenor the Butler. But in terms of Sci-Fi shows he was also in an episode of Space: 1999

Maybe you are getting him confused with Aubrey Woods who was the Controller in Day of the Daleks and appeared in the Blake's 7 episode Gambit.

He died a while ago.

Robin Phillips, UK born director and actor has died at the age of 73. http://www.cbc.ca/news/arts/robin-phillips-former-head-of-stratford-festival-dead-at-73-1.3168217

He appeared in episodes of The Avengers and The Saint, but Dr Who fans will know him best playing the part of Altos in the First Doctor story, The Keys Of Marinus.

Clifford Earl (born Ken Earl), who appeared twice in Doctor Who, Station Sergeant in The Daleks' Master Plan and Major Branwell in The Invasion, 81. http://tobyhadoke.com/doctor-who/clifford-earl-1933-2015-rip/

Seems to have been a go-to actor for police roles, was also in the TV version of Bootsie and Snudge, Danger Man, The Avengers, Softly Softly and so on.

Further to the discussion I had in an entirely inappropriate thread on Doctor Who vs Wrestling in the Death List.

Although there have only been two Doctor Who hits I thought I would check how many actual picks had a Doctor Who credit to their name

The list is surprisingly short

  • Anna Wing
  • Peter Sallis
  • Michael Gough
  • Nicholas Parsons
  • Patrick Moore
  • Geoffrey Hughes
  • Kenneth Kendall
  • Joan Sims
  • Jon Pertwee
  • William Hartnell (already dead when picked)
  • Beryl Reid

You could also add Roy Castle and Peter Cushing.

I only have two DW alumni in my Shadow list this year.

Clifford Hatts, BBC production designer has died aged 93.

Included in this thread because he was the production designer for Quatermass and the Pit, though he did many other things.

Speculation that Jenna Coleman to leave Doctor Who: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-34266847

Heard that before! Champagne is still on ice.

I actually like Jenna Coleman. She's cute as a little button

She is but three years is long enough, although I'm starting to wonder what's coming around the corner regarding the main cast...

3 years seems to be about the standard maximum time as a companion.

Elizabeth Sladen stayed for three and a half series. Incidently Elizabeth Sladen's middle name was Clara.

It's hard to know where "Clara" or Louise Coleman actually starts as a companion. She first appears as Oswin Oswald in Aug 2012, then pops up again at Xmas 2012 in Victorian London, before finally getting on board in March 2013.

For the record, Lis Sladen started in December 1973 and left in October 1976. Janet Fielding entered the Tardis in February 1981 before deciding it wasn't fun any more in February 1984, three years later.

Then there's Frazier Hines, who started in December 1966 and left (with Wendy Padbury and Patrick Troughton) in June 1969, clocking up an incredible 116 episodes! Hamish Wilson appeared as Jamie in 2 episodes in 1969's The Mind Robber.
