Monoclinic 39 Posted May 31, 2010 Calling all world cup football fans (and world cup widows... show them you can give them a run for your money) Anyone care for a (free) gamble on a world cup fantasy football game? Now that we've got some time on our hands before compiling the next deathpool list we can get some vital list making practise in by compiling a list of eleven international footballers. A veritable authority, and rather shadowy figure, tells me that some of the better free games can be found here, here and here with sky seeming to be the most basic, then metro, then ronald mcfantasy the most hands-on. I don't give two shits about football, which is the reason I've been in a fantasy Premier League football thing for the last 6 years, with a mixture of actual friends and their friends I've never met. Last year 2nd of 22, this year 12th of 21. Knowing almost nothing about the sport, not having allegiance to any particular team, and not really caring too much about the results has given me many hours of great enjoyment including not the occasional Saturday-morning panic "shit! did I make my free transfer this week? Once my lot discover they have a Scottish 'manager' expect them to turn into a bunch of selfish glory hunters, refusing to pass to each other while shouting 'it's ma baw'. They will also endeavour to spectacularly miss the opponents net at every opportunity, while easily targeting their own. The opening match of France 1998 still gives me nightmares.....
