Kent Messenger reporting the death of 97 year old Peter Lennard, former captain in the Royal Artillery and - maybe - the last survivor of the Tobruk campaign. The evidence for the final claim is that the Lennard family contacted the association for Tobruk survivors to inform them, only to find the association defunct because all the former members were dead.

I'm suspecting some other Tobruk veterans continue to breathe but ill health and/or painful memories have kept them away from declaring themselves.

Died last year, wasn't posted at the time, only found out he was dead after reading about him elsewhere and googling because "that might be a decent DDP pick":

Geoffrey Perry, born Horst Pinschewer, a German who joined the British Army in WW2 and was the man who shot Lord Haw Haw in the arse. He later went on to work in publishing and helped found "Family Circle" magazine.

Account here from John Darby, the tank driver who was the first into Bergen-Belsen after its liberation. Chances of an obit must be good purely for that alone; perhaps increased now that the BBC have featured him

That would make him 16 at the time. Kinda young, no?

That's what I thought. This article from earlier in the year has him at 17 when he first was first sent abroad.

Col Peter Jones, kept on fighting despite a neck wound, stab wounds in both legs and the loss of an eye.

I'd say his obituary should be required reading for anyone featured in Sick Note Skivers Exposed tonight on Channel 5!

Phil Leveque, a war veteran turned doctor has died at 92:

http://www.salem-news.com/articles/may032015/leveque-died-bk.php

He was also known as 'Pot Doc' because he became a huge supporter of giving war veterans access to medical marijuana. In fact, his 'generousity' made it to the New York Times:
