Magere Hein 1,400 Posted March 2, 2015 And yet people continue to worship this deity when even if he/she did exist, it's evidence of what a bastard he/she truly is and it's only fear that keeps them going. I'd fear that evil god if I'd believe in it. The dad of one of my daughter's friends has been going to church all his life, "works" at the local church - not sure exactly what he does, and gets struck down by some crippling disease in his mid-30s that he now uses a zimmer frame and sometimes a wheelchair to get around. I don't think I've seen him wearing some sort of t-shirt with a bible verse on it. But depsite all that, he believes that "God" is testing his faith. Ah yes, the Job syndrome. Stupid, but mostly harmless.
