Had a few people get to the DDP site in recent days from googling "Evie Garratt dead". Nothing out there online, but a bit weird that there's been a surge (three people) in searches for it out of nowhere. I remember her best as "Nana Hill" back when Harry Hill was still funny in the 90s.

Death Notice for actor and director Philip Grout: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thetimes-uk/obituary.aspx?n=phillip-grout&pid=192603974

Best known for the 1961 series Family Solicitor, with appearances in more familiar shows such as Harpers West One, The Rag Trade and Emergency-Ward 10.

Seems to have been quite the theatre luvvie, but I don't know enough to stick him in that thread. Looks like he's "graduated" from Denville Hall.

Yes, sad news indeed.  Seems strange when both Wendy Craig and Geoffrey Palmer (the onscreen parents) outlived him.

I thought that his career didn't really take off after Butterflies like Nicholas Lyndhurst did but looking on IMDB he's had a respectable amount of credits - just seen he was in 4 episodes of that 'Blood drive' series in 2017 - kind of a Mad Max/Deathrace thing!

Over the weekend I completed my watch of Gentleman Jack. Lots of potential DL candidates in action. DL favs Timothy West and Stephanie Cole as well as Gemma Jones and even Peter Davison setting out their stalls (the former playing bed ridden aunt) but on of the most interesting inclusions was Sylvia Sims who only appeared in one scene but was unrecognizable from her Ghost Light/Margaret Thatcher days. She is now 85.

Sheila Steafel needs to be in here.  Still no official obit, but her agent has confirmed her death.

Very sadly I can officially confirm that our multi talented client Sheila Steafel has passed away after bravely battling leukemia. Sheila was a comedy giant, and she will be hugely missed by Simon and I. We were proud to have been her agents. #RIP

The recent BBC production Gentleman Jack based on the Diaries of Anne Lister were touted as being typical 'woke' BBC leftie fare but if you look at the cast it was actually a celebration of previous Sunday night historical dramas

Gemma Jones - The Duchess of Duke Street

Peter Davison - All Creatures Great & Small

Timothy West - Brass

Stephanie Cole - Tenko
