They wrote hits for Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Cliff Richard, Dean Martin and Elvis Presley amongst others. Both of them were born in 1918. Here is an interview with Tepper from Elvis' official site: http://www.elvis.com.au/presley/songwriter_sid_tepper_reminisces_about_elvis.shtml After the death of Sid Tepper earlier this year, Roy C Bennett has decided to join him in dying. However he suffered a huge set back (financially and emotionally) a few years ago when he lost 32 of his guitars (many of them very valuable) in a flood that hit Nashville. He's big mates with DJ Bob Harris (amazingly still alive since that deep "whispering Bob" voice owes a lot to his love of a smoke), Bob meets Duane every time Bob heads to Nashville and tends to mention it on his show afterwards. . That said, and not from lack of trying, I've nay seen him to date. Along those lines, Buddy Guy is in town this weekend, but $60?!!! Looks like I'm passing. Go ahead call me a cheap fuck, but c'mon that's ridiculous.SirC

If it's the Blues Festival that Buddy is playing in, the additional bands / acts might make the $60 seem a decent price to pay.

But at least, he has a motivation to live on, that's always good for your life expectancy.
