YoungWillz 21,057 Posted April 2, 2015 I have my pop corn ready for the big debate. I'm expecting Nicola Sturgeon to make a big impression.By the end of the night a lot of English voters will want to vote for the SNP ! Nicola Sturgeon won the debate according to snap poll ! Told you ! This wasn't so much the "I agree with Nick" debate as it was the "I agree with Nicola" debate! A person who has run a nation, but spoke like an ordinary person. Cameron has run a nation but looked like he was sneering down his nose at the other leaders, while wanting to go for a poo...only he can pull that off. Miliband and Cameron are both tainted by government, Clegg looks like he will lose his seat on that performance. Farage can only gain. Whether there is any bounce in Wales for Plaid, I don't know. Greens might gain one or two.
Deathray 2,940 Posted April 2, 2015 I reckon Bennett's restored some of her reputation there, if it wasn't for the radio interview fiasco this might have been a breakthrough.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted April 2, 2015 It takes a truly nasty person to act nice while being nasty........ or summat. And by introducing such colossal cuts (especially to stuff like legal aid) while hiding behind his call me Dave, "look at my Blairy, oh-so-care-y hand gestures" act, he has legitimised a "nastiness" that none of us would have thought was coming in 2009. So..... yeah. I don't believe people would be less comfortable with other Tories as leader. Aye, he's wasted on running the country, the man's a born dead pooler! Rotten Ali 600 Posted April 2, 2015 Guess the only real winners were Boris Johnson and Ed Balls... My MP is Vernon Coaker (shadow defense sec') and he would have torn David Cameron to shreds had he been in Ed's shoes. What a shame this Wallace and Gromit look-a-like is not going to produce a major outright win. Also can't understand how elder brother David lost to this geek guy. Even International Rescue can't help him now... For me, I loved the three gals standing on the glass ceiling, rarther than never breaking through it. In truth it's all a big ploy to take the heat off Mr SamCam. If only British Politics were fair then all would be good in the garden.
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted April 4, 2015 Apparently Nicola Sturgeon "now holds all the aces" in the general election or summat........ *facepalm* And I thought my days of having to suffer being lorded over by such rodent-faced, shrill, regionally-accented bints were gone for good when I finished all my GCSE Maths and French classes....
Bibliogryphon 9,586 Posted April 7, 2015 I watched the TV debate but I must have missed the ones that all the journalists wrote about on Friday morning. I thought Newspapers were meant to report the news not act as mouthpieces for whichever political party they feel like sucking up to at that particular time. Each debater was speaking to a particular group which didn't seem to be the don't knows. The best piece of evidence for that was the snap poll that said 20% of respondents thought Nigel Farage performed best but an equal number thought he performed worst. Nicola Sturgeon did perform well she spoke confidently and expressed some popular ideas. What I hope Ed Miliband takes from this is that there is an attraction to including some socialist policies. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted April 7, 2015 Few days back I heard Robosnot say "Young people shouldn't have to take on a lifetime of debt to get an education". But... the Labour party's policy is to merely "reduce" tuition fees from £9,000 to £6,000........ so apparently he doesn't mind them having to take on two-thirds of a lifetime of debt? Gormless. Twat.
charon 4,943 Posted April 7, 2015 Jim Murphy debate drinking bingo RULES: One box: take a drink Horizontal line: finish drink Vertical line: finish bottle Complete card: sing sectarian songs until arrested
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted April 7, 2015 They forgot one square....... When charon or whoever made that actually convincingly explains how and why those things are invalid or untrue points rather than just hoping you'll presume they are because someone put them in an oh-so-witty and not-at-all tedious-and-worn-out "bingo card format": Drink the entire wine supplies of France and California. maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted April 7, 2015 We've got this far without mentioning that the Loonies are fielding 20 candidates and may actually achieve one of their aims. 8000 downloads of their campaign song in the week of the election, which they're trying to achieve, will put them in the top 40. It's doubtless what Screaming Lord Sutch would've wanted. http://www.loonyparty.com/
YoungWillz 21,057 Posted April 7, 2015 Yep just popped on to say for next two hours will be watching the debate on STV. (The channel, not the voting system). I fully expect Murphy to get his and his party's asses handed to them. See yas (if I'm not pished from the drinking game - think I'll need two of Charon's cards).

Nominations for this year don't close until tomorrow. There is still time. And possibly still time for Nigel Farage to pull a Tory defector out of the bag. I haven't got a suitable outfit to go collecting the ten signatures I'd need nor the £500 deposit that I'd almost certainly not recuperate. The latter being the greater stumbling block. Cheers Thatcher for upping the fee you cretinous dead bastard, your legacy of trodding on the poors hopes and aspirations lives on. I'll just set up a savings plan and The other option could be standing as Deathlist candidate with your backing our policies could be something like legalising the murder of celebrities for advatageous purposes in dead pools, that ought to get the daily mail going. Whichever of us stands might need to buy a mask and change our name by deadpool though. And I doubt the EC would accept our circular with "Let's kill celebs for internet points" written over the skull and cross bones. [For those lacking an off-colour humour detector or any police officers reading - this is not serious, we are not planning and extremist murder-supporting party, we've got the Tories and Labour for that already)
