Summat I've just noted on the by-election thread whilst wondering aloud of Braverman, now passed over for a senior shadow cabinet post, might start edging towards a significant position alongside Farage and Tice

A right v right leadership election and the cabinet has very few right wingers in it. Chris Mason pointing out there's 121 Tory MPs and around 100 cabinet roles to shadow. Taking out those who don't want to serve (Sunak, Dowden, Hunt, Claverley, etc.), those chairing Select Committees and those you don't like, you're not going to be able to shadow every position without doubling up and beggars can't be choosers when it comes to filling posts. The Old Crem 3,578 Posted November 6 ‘Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has moved to appoint more Robert Jenrick supporters to her shadow ministerial team, albeit in second tier roles. Jenrick supporter Danny Kruger has been appointed a Shadow Minister of State at the Department for Work and Pensions. Jenrick backer Wendy Morton has been appointed a Shadow Minister of State at the FCDO. Jenrick supporter Gareth Davies has been appointed Shadow Financial Secretary to the Treasury. Badenoch-backer Harriet Baldwin has been appointed a Shadow Minister of State at Department for Business and Trade. And Joy Morrissey will be co-Shadow Deputy Chief Whip, with Gagan Mohindra, who was announced yesterday.’
The Old Crem 3,578 Posted November 6 Looks very much like early elections in Germany and then a likely big CDU/CSU win. Who they will go into coalition with afterwards remains a big question.

Brad252 803 Posted November 9 Tomorrow's Cenotaph ceremony could well be a record breaker in terms of number of former PMs in attendance. There are now 8 living former PMs, plus Starmer as the incumbent for 9.

The three on the left don't amount to five years between them, Sunak calling the election just shy of five years before Bojo's arrival. Be interesting to know what, if anything of significance, they said to Truss!
