Grange Hill

Recommended Posts

Just listening to The Reunion episode for Grange Hill.

Todd Carty sounds awful, more 79 than 59. Has he got fat? Sounds like it.

Susan Tully sounds as she ever did and Simone Nylander could pass for 10 years younger. Zammo, Ro-land and Phil Redmond are the other guests.

Actually saw Todd Carty a few months ago. Looked good for his age, still quite active and actively touring as a theatre actor.

Is it my imagination or have quite a high percentage of Grange Hill child actors met an untimely end?

Quite an accurate reflection of life in an inner city London comprehensive then

Also Doctor Who, The Bill, etc....

and most interestingly

"He is also a familiar voice to London Underground passengers, announcing stations, lines, late arrivals and telling users to mind the gap."

Yes, I should have added his "voice acting" - I have also played a few of the video games that he contributed to.

Strange thing: just yesterday I was reminded of the storyline in Brookside where Harry Cross wouldn't talk to his son because he was living "over the brush," and I remembered that he'd been in Grange Hill too. I can't have thought about it since c.1986.
