Canadian Paul 97 Posted February 15, 2006 Hopefully she won't be back Anubis, at least not until (or unless) they re-instate guest posting.

Canadian Paul 97 Posted February 16, 2006 At risk of polluting this topic with irrelevance; does anyone have any up to date information on the health of Mary Travers? I heard she had fully recovered and played her first show in a long time in early December 2005. According to the official site, they have about 7 shows coming up, so it doesn't look like she'll be departing anytime soon. Then again, Harold Pinter has somewhat of a calendar too, and I've put my joker on his dying. Hell, even John Kenneth Galbraith was doing university speeches last year, and just last month he had time to bitch about conservatives.
Life Begins at 5 o'clock 7 Posted February 16, 2006 Look at William Rehnquist. He continued to work on the Supreme Court right up to the time he died.
maryportfuncity 10,616 Posted February 17, 2006 Carnegie Hall on December 9th, I think our Eastern Seaboard US posters should attend in the hope of watching an early Christmas present for us all.

Fleasonadog 0 Posted March 9, 2006 Uzed kids.... Not nice to trash us old folks. Especially those we really admire. PP&M were REALLY important in the early, mid-60s...I saw them many times in concert. And they'd perform before a crowd of 15,000 and then sit down informally on the floor with 30 or 40 teenagers/college kids and talk religion and politics. May Mary get well. May we not lose ALL the idealism reflected in their renditions of the Pete Seeger/Bob Dylan classics.

Godot 149 Posted March 27, 2006 Looks like they're still going reasonably strong with a full 2006 tour ahead of them but MT could still be a possibility for 2007. http://www.peterpaulmary.com/tour/f-tour-fall.htm Funnily enough Val Doonican is still touring too. Could we see a revival of Puff the Magic Dragon? I would love to have heard a Sex Pistols version: Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called honah lee. Tuber Mirum 125 Posted June 9, 2006 You people are very sad. How good do you look??? and who gives a sh*t? True, it isn't always the case, but today I'm feeling quite happy. It is the weekend after all. Considering my age and sedentary habits, I don't look too bad, I think. I don't know who gives a sh*t. Some do, some don't. Peace and joy to all. maryportfuncity 10,616 Posted June 9, 2006 How do we look? Every single avatar on display hereabouts looks better than Mary Travers in her current state, end of as far as I'm concerned.
