DL Prediction Game

Recommended Posts

Curently at 7. Well, that's what you get when you don't consider people such as Errol Christie or Mr Rockefeller. I need to be smarter about the committee next year...

I'm up to 9 hits after Peter Hall's demise.

Might outperform last year's total of 11/50 at this rate.

15/50.

A broken record if my predicted list would be the DL :P

(my last year's total was 16 btw...)

With Booth's death, now have 10/50.

Last year I had 11...can I beat the record? :P

Okay seeing that i might be quite busy for the next two months, i made a special e-mail for entries next year (So that my private messenger doesn't cluther).

DLpredictiongame@mail.com

Kind of the same rules as last time but less points

5 points for exact position

4 points if you are at only 1,2,3,4 or 5 positions removed

3 points if you are at only 6,7,8,9 or 10 positions removed

only 1 point if the person is on the list but farther from the original position

An extra 2 points if you where the only one who guessed the person correctly

And 2 points detracted for every person you got wrong

You are allowed 3 extra names (in order of priority) who will replace a name if they die before the list is online.

Also maybe give your predictions a title seeing that i can't use the DL usernames anymore if it goes through the mail.

You can send them to dlpredictiongame@mail.com (only) untill the 30th of December at 23:59 CET (mainland Europe time so 22:59 GMT). I will reveal the results somewehere in January.

Not expecting any entries yet, but if i am not here for most of November and December you now know how to reach me. I will start checking this mail adress weekly from mid-november and daily from mid-december. Please don't use PM me the names anymore.

King Michael takes me to 12 out of 50 for 2017.

Looking forward to participating next year, still getting my team together...

Just sent what I sent from my crowdsource list, minus Hallyday and King Michael of course (esta muerte). I therefore don't expect a lot of points. I'm forgot about some of the people I put on there tbh...

I'm going to enter.

However, given some of the (to use the Forum's vernacular) "non-Death-listy" names which found their way on in 2017,  I'm doubtful now that I can read the Committee's mind at all.

Not that I ever could mind, but I don't mind losing to say Jake LaMotta, but I do mind losing to Gord Downie.

Just a quick warning. This competition ends on the 30th around midnight not the 31st. So if you still haven't entered and want too then do it NOW.

Also to clarify this isn't technically a dead pool. It is a competition to predict the frontpage of this site. If you want to use your entry as a shadowlist you are off course allowed but i am not keeping score. I had some reason to believe that was unclear among new entries but could be wrong.

Also i have a big art exhibition coming up in the first two weeks of January and have too build up for that. So i hope people don't mind if i post the final score in late January because of that.

Real life comes first, pools are but a secondary.

I'm dreading being so wrong it's almost a good team to challenge this year!
