Woody Allen

He just turned 80, in December. I looked him up, he didn't have his own thread, so I thought that I'd make one.

I watched the documentary series Allen v Farrow, interesting if not very unbiased. I guess there'll be more to come once he dies, not that he gets the whitewash treatment Savile did while alive.

Hadley Freeman wasn’t convinced by it https://www.theguardian.com/film/2021/mar/03/allen-v-farrow-woody-allen-mia-farrow-documentary-is-pure-pr-why-else-would-it-omit-so-much

Well he has no plans to retire, no significant underlying health problems that we know of, and his old man lived to 100 so I wouldn’t place him in any imminent danger, despite the best efforts of his & Mia’s estranged brats’ best efforts to ruin him.

Woody Allen has announced his retirement from filmmaking after 72 years to focus on his novel.

Personally I wouldn't make much of this but at 88 next year you'd never know.

And already denied.

With all of the shit surrounding him it would be surprising if anybody wanted to work with him again or any film studio stump up the money for one of his projects.

I'd take a stab at him being forced to retire.

Polanski to release a new movie in 2022 though…
