Parkash Singh Badal hospitalised for the fifth time this year, this time with a mild fever.

Parkash Singh Badal stable and improving of course, but turns out it wasn't just a fever, he also had some heart problems, which is why he's in the Advanced Cardiac Centre of PGIMER.

He's on oxygen and looks horrible. Really gone downhill since his wife died in July:

I don't think this'll be his last hospitalisation though.

Cesar Virata, Marcos economy tsar and former Prime Minister of the Philippines attended a meeting to "discuss the future of the country" yesterday:

Probably one of the fattest nonagenarians I've seen judging on the recent pictures.

Cesar Virata (former Prime Minister of the Philippines, was in ICU after covid + pneumonia + stroke two years ago) appeared at some event this week, looked pretty horrible (but seems like he always looks miserable):

Out of the remaining Marcos cronies, who's next, Virata, JPE, Rodolfo Cuenca? Does Imelda count?

Peter Robinson, former First Minister of Northern Ireland seems to have aged a fair bit (photo here). Suffered a heart attack in 2015 and stepped back completely from frontline politics, perhaps one to watch.

See also Neil Kinnock on the left of this photo.

This post is sort of the opposite  to Ideas and possibilities for 2023.

90 year old Lord Wakeham  was at King Charles proclamation ceremony in St James Palace on Saturday as all previous Leaders of the House of Commons were invited. So he managed to attend and reportedly  looked well.

Pak Yong-il, incumbent (since 2019) Chairman of the Central Committee (leader) of North Korea's "second-largest" party, the Korean Social Democratic Party, dead at 56.

There are 4 parties in NK, Workers' Party is the ruling party and has 607 out of the 687 seats in the Supreme People's Assembly. There are three other, collaborating, mostly powerless parties (Chongryon an organization rather than a party): The Social Democratic Party with 50/687 of the seats, the Chondoist Chongu Party with 22/687 of the seats that was lead by Ryu Mi-yong until her death from lung cancer in November 2016 at 95 and Chongryon with 5 members.

The oldest known living NK politicians (if Jong Chang-ryol is dead) are former President of the Presidium Kim Yong-nam and former Vice Premier Jon Ha-chol, both 94. I think there's a list somewhere in KJU's thread. The oldest non-Workers' Party politician is Kim Yong-dae, Yong-il's 84-year-old predecessor.

I think there’s an obit here for Marilyn P. Johnson (wiki), U.S. diplomat, who has died aged 100.

Can’t see it cos it’s Euro blocked. Maybe one of our U.S. members can help.
