Hardly any duplicate picks (6?) and of them only by two people each. Looks like you've hit on an idea here Mr Ray.

Seems like my entry was 2 hours and 22 minutes late and I have been informed I'm not entered. Not a lot to say to that really...

To be fair the entry deadline was the only rule I understood.

I think that is a little harsh on a new member. But it is your game, Ray.

In truth I offered last minute to cover for a mate at work who'd been given a ticket to a NYE bash. Decided to enter this on my way home afterward. Had no clue what time my entry was sent until I got Deather's PM. But I was just trying to be sociable. I'm sure there'll be other games in the future. Keep smiling!

The main reason for rejection is that by the time I recieved the team, several of the other contenders had publically revealed their teams in this thread; given WA a competitive advantage over other teams who had not been able to see these teams. Having been so harsh on gcreptile for displaying his team in order to maintain the PM only rule, I think the only way to keep it even was to reject WAs team. Just so this is fair, Chorizo's Guerro's have been rejected for being late as well.

Where's RadGuy's entry on the master list?

Pretty sure you confused me with Sir Creep, he seems to have the same picks as I do, meanwhile I'm nowhere to be seen.

Yup, it seems I have. Apologies, it's been corrected.

I think there may be some that you can still join, if you check out the threads in the Dead Pools section.

Meanwhile, there is always the Rotten Dead Pool, which can be joined at any time. You are restricted to picks named in their lists, but a nice feature is that you can change your picks for the first 4 weeks.

I believe most of Shaun's pools are open for entry 24/7. You can check in the respective threads.

There's also the Windy City Dead Pool for the future that opens up for entries in April, which is a May to May Dead Pool.

Toast, joeyruss, msc... that's very kind of you to point those pools out. I will look into them. Everyone had to start somewhere, I take it? :)

Yeah, and I started by sending my DDP team to the wrong email and therefore not taking part in the 2011 Derby Dead Pool!

Seems to be an extremely quiet start to the year in general but no more so than this pool where neither Mario Soares or Peter Starsdet appear to have been picked.

And the calculator is dug out for the first time this year courtesy of msc's hit with Clare Hollingworth.

Seen as we can't divide by zero, instances of 0 have been replaced with 1

Msc is our first "scorer" with -4,837,615,199 4,837,613,225 for the death of Clare Hollingworth.

Note on calculations; categories where the number have 0 have been marked as 1 to avoid divisable by zero errors when working out scores. This will be applied to all instances, so no-one will gain/lose points from it. Should also makes things a bit more interesting than half the leaderboard being Infinity or 0 due to not having footballers or snooker players.

Everyone Else 0

msc -4,837,613,225 (Hollingworth)

(44 + 385 + 852) + (0116 + 01905 + 020) + 1 + 1/ 1 * (1911 - 2017 + 1974) - 169 / 1 x 1 x 125 / 1 * 229000 + 98100 * 10 * 1 / 149 = 4,837,613,225.1073825503355704697987 (rounded down for scores)

If you know that already, you understand this a lot better than me.

This could be the first deadpool you can win without having a hit.

Or we can run it until every pick has gone to avoid that rather daft outcome. Will re-evaluate depending on where we are in December.

. If anyone can determine when Clare Hollingworth's mother died an amendment will be made to the above score to reflect that.

1974.

See FreeBMD if you wish to follow the trail. :sherlock:
