Joey Russ 7,255 Posted June 11, 2017 Well done Rover for your first victory on a game. I wonder if should do one on the 2018 midterm US election, if anyone else would like to participate (not that it's coming any time soon, but its an idea that came to my head). I didn't participate in this cause I had no idea what the U.K. Parliament was like, but I might try next time. Anyways, once again, well done Rover.

TMIB with respect gains the same number of points but picked the wrong team to gain. So I should get 150% majority, TMIB should get 100% majority. I haven't checked the others, but all of my 7 were correct predictions.

Deathray 2,942 Posted June 12, 2017 Charles Walker has just been on BBC saying he expects the parliament to last the full five years. Might be a while until the next game. I'll keep an eye out for international elections we can run it for in that case.

My margin was far higher than I expected it to be truth be told. Some gut instincts on the popularity of Jo Swinson and Vince Cable to get back in, a bit of luck on the Sinn Fein advance in Northern Ireland and reading the tea leaves in Scotland as to where the SNP were vulnerable saw me home. Still missed Salmond mind. Now to go for victory in the By-Election Bingo!
RoverAndOut 4,752 Posted June 12, 2017 As for thoughts on the length before another election: I'll be amazed if this lasts 5 years. The amount of things that can go wrong in this time are staggering. May I note for a start that as of Monday night the Tories are yet to agree a deal with the DUP to get a Queen's Speech through Parliament. The date of said Queen's Speech has been pushed back indefinitely and if she can't get DUP support the Queen's Speech will fail and her government will almost certainly fall. Now, I don't expect her government to fall that quickly - the DUP won't miss the chance for power - but that's hurdle one of an awful lot to come for Theresa and the Tories in the coming weeks, months and years.
