I think that leaves just Pietro Longo, Fabrizio Cicchitto and ol' Silvio B as the only (alleged) Propaganda Due members with an English-language Wikipedia page?

Hmmm... general Pietro Musumeci was apparently alive in 2021. Could have died off radar, but if still living will turn 103 in a few months.

A couple of Italian possibilities:

Bruno Contrada, prominent intelligence and police officer who was famously arrested in 1992 for protecting mafia. Was "gravely ill and dying" in 2007! Of course his health improved when sent out of jail. Recently cleared of all accuses, TV news said he has been "on life support at home for a while". This could be another scam to get money, but the man will be 92 soon.

Vittorio Feltri , Italian right wing journalist noted for his controversial remarks and political uncorrectness. Diagnosed with breast cancer (yep) in 2021, seems to be much thinner than before nowadays and rumours of lung cancer have been floating for a while.

I doubt at just 37 Elly Schlein faces death any time soon, but her surprise leadership win may well speed up the complete electoral death of the Democratic Party:

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/surprise-result-italys-left-picks-elly-schlein-rebuild-party-2023-02-27/

A half-American Jew, born in Switzerland, in a lesbian relationship. Focus on LGBT and environmental policies. Only rejoined the party last year, having previously been a member for only two years almost a decade ago, and a member of two other parties in the interim.

None of this sounds like a recipe for success in an Italy that has gone quite firmly right-wing, populist and traditionalist of late, and with a party already riven with splits and factions.

Bruno Astorre, Accountant and politician has died aged 59. Obit (In Italian).

Not just a politician, he was an incumbent senator and he died in the offices of the senate in Rome. Quite shocking, probably a suicide.

Alfio Cantarella, drummer for 60s Italian beatpop act Equipe 84, dead at 841. Very popular with those online radio stations and Spotify playlist types who love "famous English song but sung in a foreign language" covers. Here's them doing "Goodbye Blackberry Way"

That’s an old age.

Thought it worth mentioning Helmut Berger in here as well as the D-A-CH thread. Studied in Perugia and remained in Italy for much of his life, was Luchino Visconti's partner for 12 years, and built his career on Italian productions and co-productions, including winning a David di Donatello for Ludwig.

Emilio Fede turns 90 today! :birthday:

As a present his wife Diana De Feo has died.

Emilio Fede looks awful while paying tribute to Silvio.

He has played the "I'm dying" card for years, but it's probably time to start to consider him seriously.

A couple of years ago I watched this documentary about former secretary of Italian commie party Enrico Berlinguer and I was surprised to see so many living nonagenarians among the cast.

Jovanotti (1966) singer

Arnaldo Forlani (1926 - 2023) DC

Alberto Franceschini (1947) terrorist, founder of Brigate rosse

Richard Newton Gardner (1927 - 2019)

Mikhail Gorbachev (1931 - 2022)

Pietro Ingrao (1915 - 2015) PCI

Emanuele Macaluso (1924 - 2021) PCI

Good suggestions, many old and frail who could drop at any moment.

Jovanotti hospitalised after breaking his femur and clavicle in a fall, will undergo surgery.
