charon 4,943 Posted December 22, 2018 It was written for the advert, a bank I believe, and only the first verse maybe. Artiste added the other verses I think.

YoungWillz 21,054 Posted December 22, 2018 Sounds like the kind of thing Bowie was up to in the late 70s/early 80s.

time 8,616 Posted December 22, 2018 A TV-inspired Christmas song, from the 60s, sung by a British band who had the same name as a more famous (and later) US band.

Crikey, I've been through the Outlaws, the Highwaymen, the Shadows (sometime known as the Drifters) and even the Knack, and can't find anything remotely Christmassy. Maybe I should concentrate more on Christmas, than the band?

Associated with Ron Grainer, which would tie in, but I'm damned if I can find anything Dr Who/Christmas related by them.
charon 4,943 Posted December 24, 2018 Something by Nirvana??

Nothing to do with Ron Grainer, but definitely Doctor Who related. ( not the Eagles btw)

Toast 16,142 Posted December 24, 2018 Yes, I have no recollection of it either. I thought I vaguely remembered something called 'All I Want For Christmas Is A Dalek' but I must have confused it with something else. Anyway Connect T. Rex to David Gray in six-degrees-of-separation style. Two songs should crop up along the way.

Got it in one * technically neither are dinosaurs, but two negatives makes a positive, so I'm fucking right.......

Can't mind if that was what Dr Who theme was technically called, and couldn't figure out a Xmas connection. But, they were big enough for Salvador Dali to throw paint over them Live on French telly performing it. Might have been at Xmas.
