maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted November 11, 2005 Funny you should mention that, I had a dream last night where I'd turned into a 103 year old frail American woman and I was visited by a physically fit Cumbrian bloke who'd just started giving away money to good causes. Banshees Scream 110 Posted November 13, 2005 Funny you should mention that, I had a dream last night where I'd turned into a 103 year old frail American woman Explain to me how frail you felt? From there i should be able to judge.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted November 16, 2005 I'm not budging from this thread until Banshees pronounces the promised judgement. Well you caught me at one hell of a good time/ I say Brooke Astor is 103 years old and even if in your dream she felt like a billion dollers...... That bitch is gonna croak. sympathyforthedevil 11 Posted November 16, 2005 Why doesn't she just hurry up and die already? She's had a fair innings.
Windsor 2,235 Posted November 16, 2005 Probably because she's fairly well off. There have been major scientific advances in anti-ageing and these are sure to improve as time goes progresses. Looks like we had better get prepared to wait longer for death.
Canadian Paul 97 Posted November 17, 2005 people will inevitably be able to address ageing just as effectively as they address many other diseases Ah yes, age isn't just like a disease, it IS a disease.
maryportfuncity 10,682 Posted November 19, 2005 age isn't just like a disease, it IS a disease. Technically speaking, it isn't. It's the cumulative impact of a combination of factors. Hence its irregular showing on the subjects of our posts. Brooke Astor has looked after herself very well, meaning she's likely to outlive George Best and Muhammad Ali - who have both allowed their bodies to be subjected to serious punlishment - by decades. I know, I was making fun of the way that the article Windsor posted phrased it. I'm pretty terrible with internet sarcasm.

Banshees Scream 110 Posted November 28, 2005 I'm pretty terrible with internet sarcasm. I gave up on sarcasm ages ago. Now I just act plain stupid instead. The fools and the jokers win in the end. I've had times in my life where things that had no humor at all gave me the most laughs ever. Though it's very difficult to explain. It would have to be witnessed. Or actually experienced. Something that may relate would be perhaps Tempus Fugit's signiture. And to that I can only agree.
